NEWS UPDATES!!!!!
In contest round one I got 2nd place (aside from the two winners of 1st) BUT THERE IS A ROUND TWO!
SHOW YOUR SUPPORT, WE CAN STILL GET TO OFFICIAL 2ND PLACE!
-that and so the contest will end and i can release new content for this game lol-
I am currently STILL working on the inventory as I've hit a small snag.
after long work somehow its not working, i though i had got it working but apparently not.
EDIT: somehow my code changed (maybe i pressed undo accidentally then saved..?)
I literally redid my entire code AGAIN to fine one variable flipped, tested and stacking now works.
I think.
I hope.
If it does not then I give up!!!
(ok no im joking i would not do that guys, im just a bit mad because for the past about 6 hours ive been trying to figure this out)
Replying to:ChaseCZGreat work there! :)

*cough* jk that would be almost impossible
Actually Terraria is 1.3.5.3

btw to make something like starbound first make something like terraria then make the world loop back to the beginning like in sbound (ie instead of stopping at the edge you go to the other but not vertically XD) then allow the loading of multiple worlds one at a time and now you have something like starbound! But some mechanics would be hard to recreate though
Alright today i got everything needed in the inventory to run properly but am adding a few stuff to make to look all around better.
EDIT: done and gosh is looking done, im getting addicted to moving items in my inventory lol

Should the name hopefully stick, spaceturtles should get an NPC for the awesome contribution :P
He could sell a vanity pet, like a turtle wearing an astronaut helm lol

Shhhh... you weren't supposed to say that out loud!! (I guess its fine to admit now most of the NPC characters will be based off of SBS people and people who help make this game by either giving ideas or helping in general)
speaking of, random guy I'll be giving you the spritesheet to make the characters, I will stress that they have to be the size of the white cube thingy that will be at the beginning and for you not to clear every sprite on the page as there are a few i might use for color reference (but mainly the ones on the bottom)
and also to put them by eachother! -very important- if you want to make animations you can but all i need is left and right basically and i can make the rest, so its up to you, if possible i want them done by saturday otherwise take your time its not like super important.
ill pm you the key

well he's iconic for being DaSonicMario so why not?
For making the blocks below the player darker you could try using gfills to fill where a group of blocks are, do a little calculation, and get rid of some of the filled in area based on the calculation and thickness of the group. A form of antialiasing could be used to smooth out the dark but I don't know how to do that. I'm working on a sprite render technique for my game which allows near infinite (or at least more than the allowed sprites) amounts of things that require sprites but are only rendered with them when on screen. That could be useful for making things with light effects but you would have to rewrite your engine to impliment it.

i don't want to be either of those. i would much rather be the guy who would make a fake post to miiverse showing a picture then you can't see the post after you make it because miiverse is dead RIP
it would be a memorial to miiverse

easily would have done this but to fill it in each block on the screen requires a for loops that causes lag, and sprites while probably not better (i never tried) would be the only other way i would do it but i think i finally found a way to do it, more info later
