Site update 2/25/16:
  • Old user icons will no longer be kept indefinitely. Sorry, you guys are changing your avatars way more often than I thought you would! Basically you won't be able to save links to your old avatars, because they'll eventually go away.
  • The chat will now automatically remove the https protocol. This means you can browse the website more securely with https://smilebasicsource.com, as the chat will automatically fix itself (if you use the navigation tab)
  • Chat is now asynchronous. This doesn't really change anything on your end, but there is no longer a forced 100ms lag on each message.
  • Made chat lock resources less often. This should remove many of the random 1-3 second message lags that would happen every minute. This won't fix your internet speed, but the consistent lag every minute should now be gone
  • Added the "exgame" module back to the chat. It's uh... not that great, but try it out if you want.

Site Update... uh 3/7/16 I guess There WAS a bunch of stuff changed but I totally forgot everything because I didn't document any of it. Something about fixing some chat bugs, fixing some other website issues, changing the top of forum styling, adding advertisements... whatever. The important part is that you are now limited to 4 avatar uploads every 24 hours. So try to restrain yourself.

Even 4 avatar uploads every 24 hours sounds really generous, but I'm perfectly fine with overly generous.

Mini Update 3/14/16
  • Chat now has some extra stuff in "custom" mode to help distinguish post tags and hopefully prevent misplaced posts
    • In custom, messages will have a label next to the timestamp if you have more than 1 message type in your filter
    • Again only custom, the textbox will have a colored background depending on the tag you're going to post with. Apparently the button wasn't enough, hopefully this is.
    • Also, apparently people didn't notice that there is a thin colored strip on the left of messages that also indicates the room they are in. That's been around forever.
  • Edit: I almost forgot. There are also accesskeys to switch post tag. Press alt-shift (generally, see below) and s/d/(f) to switch to off-topic/smilebasic/(staff) tags. You'll need to then press alt-shift-z to focus back on the textbox.

Site update like, I don't know man, 3/15/16 or something?
  • New option to color message submit area in chat
  • New option to label messages with their tags in chat
  • New option to color ALL chat messages (or none, if that's your thing)
  • Removed exgame from chat because it just doesn't want to work
  • Added random page searching. You can start your random page search from the Submissions page. It will only search within the category given, so go to the category you want (like Programs or Games) before diving in.

Very important Site Update 3/16/16:
  • Fixed recent website slowness. The tradeoff is that it uses Javascript to load pages much faster than before. If your device does not support javascript, there's a setting on your userhome to disable javascript loading. However, you'll need javascript to set the setting, so.... yeah lol
If you are no longer receiving notifications when you know you should be, please let me know! I may start moving other things over to javascript loading so that things feel snappier.

Site update 3/17/16:
  • You can now easily see which categories and threads have "unread messages". A thread will be marked read if you visit it. New posts afterwards will mark it unread again. This is entirely separate from the notification system; you don't have to watch any threads to make this work. You can clear all alerts for threads from the main forum page or for a given category.
If you have questions, please let me know. This feature was requested by NeatNit; hopefully this is actually what he was asking for >.<

Site update 3/18/16:
  • Made forum alerts optional. Go to your settings and disable the forum alerts setting to stop seeing the red alerts for unread forum threads.
  • Fixed missing notification "clear all" button

Site update 3/19/16 (kind of):
  • Added previews to all bbcode tools. Now you can preview your post on anything that shows the tools (comments, forum posts, page editing, etc.). If you have issues, please let me know
  • If you leave a room in the chat, it will place you in the room you were last in (assuming it was an existing room).
If you have issues with the new features, please let me know.

Ahh, good. Hopefully previewing will reduce the amount of editing due to the bbcode not being as planned.

Hi

Maybe you could make the rate to collapse 3 instead of 4? people don't usually have more than 3 quotes.

Nah, I like 4.

Site update 3/22/16:
  • Made hidden comment controls optional. If you disable this option, the reply/edit/delete buttons on comments will always show.

There hasn't been an update for 3 weeks. Any plans for another soon?

Not right now, sorry. I'm kind of busy.

Not right now, sorry. I'm kind of busy.
No problem.

Site update 2/23/16:
  • Fixed the bug where editing a page would show the old description in the edit summary
  • Added custom edit summaries in case you want to let people know what you ACTUALLY changed on a page. It's yellow so that you notice (and use) it more.
Edit:
  • When you're banned, you're sent a personal message from the person who banned you telling you why you were banned. It is no longer shown on your user page.

Are polls totally done yet? Asking because I wanted to make one to try them out.

Nope; I've been busy with other things. I'll try to get them... uh... "working" by tonight. I mean they're already technically working, they're just ugly and they don't visually show the votes (but you can inspect the elements to get them). Don't make any here though; they're only on the dev webbo
