Miiverse will be closing on November 8th, 2017

I don't think games can detect the home button being pressed, at least not directly.I think it woul be the 3ds hardware that detects it, not the game. Some games (Like Tomodachi Life, and ACNL) allow L+R for screenshots, so maybe them it could use that. And maybe this website could be 3ds friendly (Dont tell me if it is I never attempted to go to this website on my 2ds) So we can upload screenshots saved on our DS Also, Is there a way to launch the system in the screen calabration mode? the date &time keeps resetting (probably need to reseat m DS battery, done it before) And my touch screen needs to be recalibrated

if Japanese users have something like SBS. Many of their programs is amazing, they must've have their own culture of fourms and website that's like SBSIs there a way for Japanese users to access in the similar way of SmileBasicSource website? I can't find it.Not sure if you're asking how to access SBS in Japanese, or if Japanese users have something like SBS, but if you're asking about the latter... There's this unofficial wiki where keys get listed. But (somewhat recently, I think) SmileBoom introduced this official place to post keys, though it's Japanese-only.
If you enjoy YTP videos a lot, you'll get the sense of humor. But yeah. I kind of feel like I want to invite Japanese audiences to the American site of this so we could able to have fun and join forces. It's really rare to see massive interaction between US/UK and JP.i dont understand why it is funny it is unfinished and it says soI am so sorry, I cannot stop laughing so hard looking at the translator version of this.
Pressing certain button combinations to take a screenshot is flawed, (depending on the game) the same button combo to take screenshots might not work for every game. And even then where will the screenshots go? I doubt they'd go to the SD card or the 3DS camera photo album; no, I think a good idea would be to change the miiverse icon to something like twitter, and have it be basically the same system where you press the home button, and then the "Twitter" (Or another form of media) button to post screenshots to twitter instead of miiverse.
EDIT: Nothing I speculated about here is true.
But even then none of this is probably going to happen. Not to be so pessimistic, but I'm pretty sure Nintendo will get rid of miiverse without another solution to the screenshot problem.
EDIT: I was somewhat right about this.
Nintendo posted an FAQ explaining in detail everything that's going to be messed up because of this, you can check it out here: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27329
Also, (Even though I doubt anyone cares including me) The Wii U Chat service will be discontinued with Miiverse on Nov. 7, 2017, at 10 p.m. PT.
And this really screws over games like Super Mario Maker and Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars since miiverse was a large contributor to they're level sharing features.

EDIT: I was somewhat right about this.Games that have a built-in screenshot function save to the DCIM folder on the 3DS SD card. I don't see why it shouldn't on the global method. Also, anyone who has used Game Notes might remember that it displays the suspended software on the top screen. A function to save a screenshot could be added there.
I was told they explicitly mentioned that they do not plan on patching out the Miiverse icon. So I can reasonably believe that if they're too lazy to spend five minutes making a patch that hides a button, they won't make a patch that provides a screenshot feature for 3DS.Yeah, it's in the FAQ'S. That's so damn lazy
aww yeah my mii always looks best when it's overly compressed
oh no that rhymed please kill me
Anyway, an in game community would take an INSANE amount of effort for SmileBoom, and I really don't think it's worth it since there are already other places *cough* SBS *cough*
Screenshots would be great of course.

It would use the same START button menu, but it wouldn't have a new menu.
There's a petition going around
https://www.change.org/p/nintendo-save-miiverse
Hm, my bet is that they won't release any sort of replacement. I mean, if they planned on adding a way to save screenshots from games, why wouldn't they mention it in their FAQ when it could possible calm down some of the people upset by miiverse getting discontinued? And why would they put the miiverse shutdown message in the v5.5.1 update if they were going to release another update with a screenshot mechanic or anything else?
Anyway, the idea of smileBASIC being able to save screenshots while in a player-created game is an interesting idea, it could even be the select button since all it does currently is the same thing as the start button atm.
it could even be the select button since all it does currently is the same thing as the start button atm.As far as I know, every single 3DS game (besides VC games) uses Start/Select for the same thing. From what I've heard, the official devkit doesn't even allow you to use them for different things, I think they're just aliased.
Forget the petition to save Miiverse. Ninty better not pull this schtick again with the select button. There is literally no good reason I can think of for putting the button on and not allowing anyone to use it.it could even be the select button since all it does currently is the same thing as the start button atm.As far as I know, every single 3DS game (besides VC games) uses Start/Select for the same thing. The old 3DS and 3DS XL had Select and Start on either side of the Home button. Maybe the idea was to make pausing easily accessible from either side.Forget the petition to save Miiverse.
