Will you be able to edit your OSP after submitting it? I'm just afraid that I'll submit something not final and blow my chance at the contest.

Yeah, there's an edit option but if you're not sure you should post to the thread first and then just make sure your final is up by the end.

If you want higher quality code screenshots: https://smilebasicsource.com/page?pid=1154

Symbols which don't appear on the keyboard are allowed as long as CHR$(#) is used to display it and is what is used in the code in place of the actual character is allowed?

not in the source.

Then you don't have any illegal characters in your source code. you can display whatever you want, but you'll have to use legal characters to generate it.

It's worth noting that you're allowed to refer to SYS files in your entry since they don't come with your program and are considered part of the environment. However this may affect portability if you rely on text (like I am); my project probably won't work on Japanese systems because of English text. EDIT: It will still work but the generated dictionary will be smaller on JP systems ene Also this isn't strictly a games contest, but making a game will probably make you more likely to win. Food for thought though, I submitted a paint program last year and made top 5.

We're around halfway through with the entry period! Remember to submit your finished OSPs to http://smilebasicsource.com/osp/

Sorry if this has already been addressed before, but is it legal if an OSP generates another program that is larger than one screen and executes it?

The original program has to be reproducible from a single screenshot. Whatever that program produces is all good.

When taking your screenshot, remember to wait until the cursor isn't visible!!

argh i took like 10 just to make sure and uploaded the wrong one :/

My game fits in one screen but SB says its size is 1336!! (OP says the limit is 1334) what do I do :(

SB automatically inserts linebreaks. If what's onscreen is all the meaningful code, you're fine.

Also if you use non ascii chars they get saved as more than 1 byte so the filesize is larger

Reminder that today is the last day of the contest submission period! Make sure your final keys are in the form!

This is extremely unpopular.

This is extremely unpopular.
If you mean it’s unpopular from lack of submissions, then you need to go look at the ‘submissions’ tab and click on ‘OSP’. People only have to submit to the website, not to this specific page.

I mean posts on this thread.

Hiii guess I'll be finishing the contest. Thank you for all the submissions! Now it's time to vote for the best! Try to pick no more than 3. The key to download all the submissions is in the title of the poll: [poll=p407][/poll] You can take down your OSP keys now if you want. Edit: You should've all received your participation badges.

everyone but me voted 3 games as of now. i voted 1 game.
