What would you think about unobtrusive advertisements?

If you had ads like this: http://imgur.com/ioIBHDC I'd be fine! It's away from any actual content on the site.

I'm fine with ads, as long as they don't block something, they aren't going to follow where I scroll and make noises, and that if they are video ads, they are automatically muted so people don't get annoyed and leave the site without seeing what the site really is.

As long as they're not intrusive, go ahead. I understand the financial need to support running a site.

Sure thing.

Sure thing.
One more thing, I'll disable AdBlock on this site.

how about we force users to pay a small fee before entering, or just have those 1$ ads which show people advertisements of their comic websites.

What is whitelisting and how do i do it on Chrome? I'm under the impression that whitelisting is allowing certain sites to run ads.

I'm pretty sure we all have adblock anyway, you might want to force us to use it.

to not use it*

simply disabling adblock on this website will whitelist it-- woah ads already?

Do you have an adblocker installed? Which one?

contents..revenue...if the content is the the download keys... put the ads near the download keys on the submissions/spotlight pages. the page is sponsored by the ad...not the author or source of the program key.

I have to go with what works for our page format. Right now the only thing that works is top and bottom advertisements, which is perfectly fine.

I think that you should do what you need to do in order to keep the site going. No one likes ads, but no one will begrudge you adding them. Oh, should I be seeing ads already? I usually browse this site on my phone with no blocker and can't see any ads or placeholders where ads should be.

Thanks. No, there's no ads yet. The space is there, but there's nothing to put in it.

I agree with almost everyone else. If they're unobtrusive, and they help the site, there's no reason I'd be opposed to them.

I think you should charge a one time membership fee instead. I remember when you started this place you mentioned the built-from-scratch aspect of the forum was inspired by the DIY aspect of Smilebasic. You should further that inspiration and charge $10, just like they do. It's only fair. I expect this proposal to be extremely popular.

Can't tell if satire to show distaste of proposed advertisements... or just sarcasm in general lol >.<

Just messin with ya. ;p

Post some weab shit like Jbox.com or maybe get in contact with some indie game sites like itch.io or Playism. There's actually about a 5% chance I'd click on either myself.
