Unofficial Summer Terror Contest.
Hello people of the smilebasic community.
I want to welcome you to join my Summer Terror Programming contest.
I haven't seen very many horror games in SmileBasic.
Lets change that.
First off.
The Guidelines are
-Each program must be new-
-Each program must be under the Horror genre (or any sub genre of horror)-
You can submit your program from today (June 16th to August 25th)
Voting will begin august 26th
Winners will be chosen august 30th.

(This is very sad, and I apologize if this inconveniences anyone, but I do not have a Wii U so the only programs I can personally look at are ones from the Old nintendo 3d's and the New one. I'm sorry, I want you to still submit so people can judge them though)

This sounds like a cool thing, since there’s likely not going to be another official contest, but I do have some questions.
First, how are you going to give the winners the prizes?
Also, it would be better IMO to allow programs to be submitted from the start of the contest until the end, not just in four days (unless those four days are the span of the contest?) And, if the contest starts today, it only gives users 18-19 days to make their program. I think that the standard one-month span like in official contests would be better, as it takes a while to make a nice game.
If those two things were changed in the rules, then I would probably enter the contest.
Since this is horror-themed why not end it on or the day after halloween or so?

The dates now are,
Jun 16 - September 30 on the making of the program.
I don't want to wait until the 30th of October so,
It will be October 5th that I'm taking submissions in.
Then after that voting will start October 10th to make sure everyone has their programs in.
Then the winners will be chosen on the 13th.
(I hope that's better I agree with the lack of time thing)
Prizes will be delivered directly through smilebasic source messaging. I,will announce the winners early on the 13th and give a prize to them before late afternoon.
If possible I might be able to raise the prize to 20 on the eshop by then but ill just keep that under until I know for sure.
I hope @SwanBot I gave you enough time I did take your camp under consideration when changing that dates.
Also @ProKuKu I hope the change will encourage you to enter.

I didn't do,it on Halloween but at least it is in October.
Alright im glad that works out. I can't wait to see what game you make.lol all those messages are too long of a span with mobileThat should be plenty of time and those who are busy during the summer can have a chance. It's also long enough to either gain a lot of attention or to be forgotten but the latter is less likely.
I updated it. That is the official dates that this contest will be over. Thanks for the help guys.random question, lets say i somehow got first but have no money aside from the $10 ive just won, in this case the discount for majoras mask does nothing and gets wasted :/ ? i guess same for 2nd but worse... iirc the discounts only render good for one month or so..? -- on other notes, is stuff ive made to help with game dev allowed to be used such as my particle gen and map gen/sprites and tiles pre-created?

What I meant by new program is that
If you published a horror game before, you cannot use it in the contest.
But yes use whatever you want to aid in the production of your game.
idk if you’ve seen already, but the new update is actually going to come to America and possibly Europe (June 28th) which has caused Lumage to possibly allow another Official contest. Do you think you’ll still keep this one going even with an official contest possibly happening at the same time? Most people will probably focus on the official one more, so it’s up to you.
