Two contests at once! Kind of. The Quarter Screen Program contest will run until March 26 (a very short period, but, then again, you have less than 300 characters to work with), and the One Screen Program contest will have a staggered submission period starting after the 26th and ending on April 3rd.
Important notes:Only unambiguous characters typeable on the default keyboard are legal No other files may be included, including graphic assets. WRITING to files is acceptable: the initial state must only be the single file. You must be able to provide an actual screenshot of your code at submission.

Submission: Submit entries by uploading a code screenshot and (temporary) key to http://smilebasicsource.com/osp/. This step is REQUIRED for all entries. There will be separate submission openings for QSP and OSP entries, so please read carefully. You must also provide a unique filename matching the filename in the key. To make it easier, we suggest using a prefix based on your username (for example, Y_PLANTS might be mine). You can also provide gameplay screenshots and a short description at this point -- if you need more, you can always create a real page or reply to this thread.
If you do not have your program submitted to the OSP section, it will not be counted. Please be sure to do it correctly!
Theme: Since there's so little space, there is no required theme. If you're REALLY having trouble getting inspiration, um... why not try something with the idea of "egg." Or a nearby holiday. Right? Right.
At the end of each submission period, voting will be conducted as normal.
For tips on reducing code size to fit within the available space, please see https://smilebasicsource.com/forum?ftid=1775
- You may work on OSP entries from now until the OSP deadline; however, you will not be able to submit them until QSP submission closes on the 26th.
- This contest is just for fun. There are no monetary prizes, but badges for participants and winners will be awarded as usual.
- Standard contest rules apply.
OSP Definition and Rules
OSP, or "one-screen program" is a program that fits within one editor screenshot (1334 characters). For eligibility in this contest, the intent of the restriction is that your program will run if typed in by hand from a single screenshot of the built-in editor at WIDTH 8 on a 3DS system. This means:QSP Definition and Rules
