Or we could just give legitimate requests instead of making chitchat.Or, we could let people do what they want, instead of trying to command what everyone's doing. Both options are pretty unnecessary. If you don't have any actual content to contribute, there's usually no reason to comment. If a measure of agreement is needed, that's what polls are for.
Anyway, rumor says the new system will allow answers to questions to be voted on for their quality. This allows good contributions to be rated the way other question/answer systems have, without leading to "+1" or agreement with shitposts.

No. People don't need to destroy content. You don't "own" threads, really. Maybe your posts, but threads can be contributed to by other people, and if you delete a thread it says that those other contributions don't matter.
