Introducing Celestrium. This game is all about adventure and fun but in its current versions it is not at Version 1.0 yet meaning many things have not been Added yet. For anyone wondering I have been focusing on my school and getting that done instead of working on this but for now just know you most likely wont get anything from this too soon. I'd love to wrok on this and stuff but juggling doing this and schoolwork (along with other stuff I am doing in my life) is just a bit too hard for me right now. You may have noticed warriors name on here and that is because he is indeed helping though currently working on something else. UPDATE 0.93 IS RELEASED!! Its the nearest thing you will get to Terraria in SmileBasic (but is not to be confused as a Terraria clone!, the engine is very nice and holds worlds 1000x1000 in size but can at the largest be 2000x2000 so i may extend it a bit depending, or add a feature allowing you to choose a larger world in the future. while there been debate i want to firmly state THIS IS NOT A CLONE OF TERRARIA. If you look around sbs you will find no game like terraria in any way other then Petitworld, this is of my own making ONLY, aside from help i get from others (such as random guy and Nathaniel) the whole game is made by me. now to the good stuff. for anyone wondering, the terrain generation is not near done but i got the grass/forest biome working very nicely. Currently it has, 4 biomes, forest, snow, sand and jungle. while they (excluding forest) are not done and pretty much empty in the future i will add all the stuff i can think of, just is hard to add things sometimes the forest biome has *Randomly generated trees *Random grass and flower stuff on the ground *Smooth terrain And more before anyone blabs about copyright for the sprites, every one it has was made solely by me (and the wood by random guy) with no looking or trying to copy terraria sprites, so as i said on chat "grass is grass" there is no copying a 8x8 grass tile unless you really try idk if anyone reads this but yes i know the map and inventory buttons do nothing because they are not added but will be soon

Instructions:

Move using circle pad or Dpad. To place blocks press on the touch screen and tap R to place but it is EXTREMELY UNFINISHED and not intended for mining use as of yet so please dont complain about it as it is being removed and made better anyways. To mine you can press in the direction you want to go and hold x but this is soon to be changed To save world press L. To move item in inventory drag them or push a then move with circle pad or dpad To generate the world Do the stuff your told to do

UPDATES

For anyone wondering I have been focusing on my school and getting that done instead of working on this but for now just know you most likely wont get anything from this too soon. I'd love to wrok on this and stuff but juggling doing this and schoolwork (along with other stuff I am doing in my life) is just a bit too hard for me. Update 0.94: Progress 9% complete. Current thing being worked on: Fixing code/bugs and adding crafting/more stuff Upcoming tasks:Add the first crafting menu, Finish new worlds stuff. Warrior has joined DEV as a coder *yay* :) may dev go well and a bit faster maybe idk, but good. Update 0.93 Game (all) updates, Progress:100% complete. Finished:Worlds now take half the space they used to, crashing thing fixed, added new world things, better generation slightly, new sprites, inventory system and item variables+moving items, touch compatibility, deleting items, dynamic graphical animations for moving things, much more improved title screen still in the process of being made with moving, settings, credits, world loading, multiple worlds, multiple characters (still being made), easter eggs, title logos and much more..

Hey comment #200 Can I join development? (even though I am working on Alpa as well)
Also if I can join dev here is an idea for collaboration: We could have and engine that has all the games codes in user instructions and a program that runs them. That way we can upload an instruction to the dev group and simply add it to the games code and engine.

I'm not looking for anyone to collaborate with me RN but if you want you can mess around with the code and if you make any interesting things youd maybe want added ill take a look at it and maybe add it. But like I said I have a lot of schoolwork and other things going on in my life and a collaboration just wouldnt work out. anyways tbh ill tell you what i got kinda really got stuck on. so mining blocks, it works but as you can tell it is "iffy" in some spots. idk what causes the differential in locations that make it a tiny bit off some places. It'd be faily easy to add things once i got that working perfectly. Just a few edits on the inventory and I'd be able to finish my simple system. From there I could pretty simply add something that would allow me to make a very user freindly thing to add things like items and other cool mechanics. Anyways that one thing kinda threw me off a lot. I tried TONS of ways to make it work but I havent been able to get it to fully work.

Tbh I would just redo the mining system. That is because it's how my mind works, I try something, fix stuff until I can fix no more, and if it still doesn't work, rebuild it. But that's just an idea.

Yes but I mean even rebuilding it doesn't solve the problem because its not a problem with the way its made its with the very specific line that targets which block it being edited on. *partial edit* I just had a realization.. the problem i think is based on the player being on an inperfect position in the map (aka x:127.428522... Y:103.4539239... instead of X:127 Y:103) this is obviously because the movement is smooth and not one block at a time. a possible fix if my theory is correct is to simply center the player on the nearest whole number with an open space (i mean open space because it possible i think the whole number may be located in a block, but unlikely i think) when he starts mining. It would simple center you on the nearest block if this works how id expect it to. I may try this....... maybe......

You'd better try it lol I'd just have the player lock on a block when stopped, like when you're on the ground it locks your location so you aren't floating or in the ground.

Just looked at this again. You couldn't get stuck in a block when it locks you, because if your collision is set up precisely enough it won't get high enough to round it up.

this is cool

I am gonna try redownloading this and adding/fixing stuff. I might make a whole new game from this.

Thanks A small update: I am partially redoing the title screen, game, and sprites/bg, and totally redoing the world generator. The way that the generator will work is that it will generate multiple worlds that are each one biome. The player could hopefully travel through these using portals. I am also fixing bugs and adding stuff like weapons and entities.

Another update: I restarted with this project. My main focus was trying to "fix" the map system, even though there isn't really anything wrong with it. Now I have my attention to the inventory system, because of crafting. I am also gonna try to add monsters, an item system (actually using them), and possibly better terrain generation. Is there any sort of crafting menu even just started in 0.93? Right now I'm just gonna make a function for it.
