I spent from 8pm to 2am last night adding and polishing the game, and there is still a few bugs left in it. I never did get to adding power ups either. But time is practically up (at least for me and my free time before the deadline), so my entry has been uploaded and submitted. This was by far my biggest effort yet, over 2000 lines of code, and sadly I didn't finish notating all of it. What is there, I hope will be found to be an enjoyable experience for all. I'll probably update the game after the polls close in a month or two, to finish the code for the Homing Missile, Wrench, and Shield power-ups. (and maybe add a new UFO or two) Best of luck to the rest of you guys. I look forward to playing some great things soon! EDIT: I think the combination of Thrust's awesome and public early beta, and the new requirement of "Your entry must have at least some effort put into it" scared a bunch of people away from finishing and submitting what they had to the competition.I think it was thrust for me. That level select screen!! Wew lad. The contest still looked fun though.

No way I'm gonna be able to finish my project before the deadline. Should I just turn it in anyway? I only really started it for the participation badge and never expected to win.My game is hardly a game but I entered anyway. I'm not gonna add much more to it.
Lel. I'll keep that in mind for next time.
"At least some effort" was just there to deter people from making a 4 line game that just spams "FLIGHT" all over the place. I didn't mean you had to make some sprawling RPG that would take hundreds of hours to create lol.I could make it more efficient to work in 2 lines, then would it be acceptable?
I bet I could do it in one line."At least some effort" was just there to deter people from making a 4 line game that just spams "FLIGHT" all over the place. Given how on the Winter one there were only 8 submissions, I would guess that 8 minimum is a safe bet. (The previous Summer "Color" stated a minimum of 10 entries)
I'm guessing there might be the 'now standard' 12 to 24 hour delay "last call" to scrounge up at least 8 entries. Then voting will start a day or so late. Unless a last minute entry is submitted.
I must say this competition is less about winning and more about playing the cool stuff the community comes up with. As a participant, I love the rush I get from planning to submission, and finding some way to push myself further then I have gone before. I also make a habit to create things that can then be shown to a classroom as I have been working towards getting a small group of homeschoolers together to teach a 13 week class on the basics of BASIC over the Summer. (For the next fall semester)

(For the next fall semester)That sounds really cool! I would totally join those classes if I didn't live 3000+ miles from you. (I'm on Hawaii) Hopefully enough contest entries are made in time...If not, would you still give out the 1st, 2nd, and participation badges? (Minus any steam/Eshop credit prizes)
I went ahead and included what I have made so far to the contest, even though it is far from complete and has zero chances of winning. This contest did a lot to get the ball rolling on this project, so hopefully one day some day I'll finish it.
... I want badges to have a consistent feel, and badges will not be consistent if I don't draw them all. Everyone has their own style, and I just don't want them all mixed up. You guys can come up with ideas for badges and I'll think about whether or not I want to add them! But I'm going to draw them myself, and I want to have the final say about what gets added and what doesn't ....I know you don't want just anyone to draw badges, but would it be possible if the people who entered the competition were willing to make the badge, with your scrutiny required for acceptance, and final approval?
