Homebrew Thread
NeatNitCreated:
Well I got homebrew pretty recently, and JustGreat's report says that "Nintendo has been tagging people for possibly months; judging by reports of people being banned who hadn't used their 3DS for extended periods of time." so your probably right, about me being safe...But anything can happen so yeah.Damn...For once, I'm happy I don't/can't get CFW. This doesn't apply/effect a homebrewed n3DS xl 11.4 right? I can only access HB through ninjahax, so I wouldn't think so, but I thought I'd ask... (I disabled the friends and share data settings)Anyone with any mods are vunerable. I have CFW and sighax but not banned. Homebrew is probably less prone to Nintendo's banning but I think anything thing can happen. Your most likely safe, though we don't know what has given Nintendo the information, because you turned off data sharing. Theories say that Nintendo was picking up title ID's through it.
From a moral standpoint it is. People primarily user CFW to pirate games from the EShop. It's about time Nintendo started doing thisWhy is that a good thing?
And the ones who don't, they use the freeshop to pirate games that they already own physically, but not digitally, so that they can play their games without needing the cartage. (which is quite useful if you don't want to spend an extra $40 on a game you already own) But even then there are too many good things about it to say that it's a good thing it's gone, take NTR as an example, that is insanely useful for streaming if you don't want to spend an absurd amount of cash on another 3DS with a capture card built in, or other small things like custom themes instead of the OK but not as good $2 themes. From a moral standpoint it is. You forgot to mention SmileBASIC File Manager... That's a good thing too... :)And the ones who don't, they use the freeshop to pirate games that they already own physically, but not digitally, so that they can play their games without needing the cartage. It doesn't matter if you're just making a copy of a game you own already. It's illegal.
Now that you have two copied, what's stopping you from selling the original?
It doesn't matter if you're just making a copy of a game you own already. It's illegal. Now that you have two copied, what's stopping you from selling the original?Well I personally prefer digital so that it's with me wherever I go, (For handhelds that is) but I also like to collect the games and their cases, so it's incredibly useful for me to be able to have both without spending extra money that I really don't have. And I'll remind you that it's still not a good thing ("It's about time Nintendo started doing this") that Nintnedo is doing this because of the many useful programs like SBFM, NTR streaming, etc. Somebody somewhere is always going to use something for the wrong purpose, but that doesn't mean everyone who wasn't should be punished too.
I understand why you'd want to be able to have the cartridge and the downloaded version, but there's probably no easy way to allow this without also allowing piracy. (Or maybe there is and Nintendo is just too lazy lol) And Nintendo didn't do this to stop people from using harmless homebrew programs like SBFM, I'm pretty sure it was just to prevent piracy or cheating in online games, or something like that.It doesn't matter if you're just making a copy of a game you own already. So you're saying that you would do/are doing it, but you'd also like doers of this to be punished? What?It doesn't matter if you're just making a copy of a game you own already. It's illegal. Oh wow how did I not see this (insert 0.5 A presses joke here)Soundhax was extremely surprisingly easy! And what I meant about the A button, I know it's wear and tear. What I meant to ask was: "Is it possible to install the homebrew launcher without the use of the A button?" Turns out, yes.As far as I know, you're fine if you're below 11.4. As for the A button, wear and tear?Spoiler
Sorry to necropost, but I want to put homebrew on my old 3DS now, but I did something terrible recently... I updated the firmware. It is currently at Ver. 11.2.0-35u And another problem to deal with is, the (A) button is unresponsive/broken. Is there any hope?
You can also use Menu Hax, which is better than buying old Ironhax.i can agree
Whoa necros
That didn't either but whatever. Is nds-card.com a good place to get an r4?insert gif of me unwatchinginsert gif of me flagging this because unwatching is a silent thing that shouldn't have to be announced
I don't know about that website, but https://www.nds-card.com/ is definitely the best place to purchase a flashcart from, the official guide for hacking a 3DS (https://3ds.guide/) even recommends it. I also can confirm that it's legit since the flashcart I ordered from it (For ntrboot) worked great. If you want and R4 card go to http://www.r4i-sdhc.com. I got mine here, and it works nicely. That didn't either but whatever. Cool thanks. r4i-sdhc.com doesn't seem to be selling anymore cards since 2013.If you want and R4 card go to http://www.r4i-sdhc.com. Just so everyone knows you don't need FreEshop to get you physical games on your 3ds digitally. You can dump the CIA file. Anyone who uses FreEshop is a pirate and downloading a games to test it out is a weak argument.
