If you're a new user trying to create an account, please note that account creation has been disabled. I'm sure you won't see this, but I can at least refer to it if there are questions. I don't know when account creation will be re-enabled. If you're a new user trying to create an account, I'm sorry.

Make a separate email address for account requests. Have them type an essay on how they won't break the rules and specifically how they will help the community and not just waste space on your server.

That's just...no that's dumb. People shouldn't have to write an application to join a community.

I had to talk to a person online to play on a videogame server

I'm going to leave the DOS check on overnight. I don't want to wake up to a broken website. This means it'll check your browser every hour; sorry for the trouble. Account creation will remain disabled for possibly a few days.

I guess it's not? Somebody just created an account.

It's on again. DDoS is enabled.

I now realize that it was enabled. It was just not stated here, so I assumed that it wasn't at first.

Well lets hope Megamon wont come again. I have no idea who Megamon is but all i know is hes trouble.

MEGAMON/TheAquuaHybrid/Hydra_The_Programmer is a user that was a little too immature. He ended up DoSing the site, and there was a major thing that included me getting blamed for it. He ended up being permabanned, and he's now frowned upon by the community (especially me).

RandomousCrap, I understand why your doing this, and I feel sorry for you. 16 Account Proxy Guy must make running this website much harder than it should be.

Thanks guys; I think everything will be OK. Just gotta keep going.

Idea: require new users to submit their first post and have it verified by a mod before they can add any more content to the site. If the post is something along the lines of "im soooo sorry plz plz plz plz let me back plz plz ill be good", delete their account.

That's hard to set up but easy to fool. If you just post something relatively OK for your first post, then get verified, you can immediately start spamming stuff. I don't think it's worth the amount of effort required.

I wouldn't allow them to post things like "hey guys new to this place cant wait to program and frolic with you all :))))". Make sure it's an actual contribution they're submitting, like a well-thought-out programming question or something. Typically, the kind of person that makes alts to cause problems aren't self-aware enough to convincingly act like they're someone else. I don't know why, it just seems to be a trait they all share. But hey, that's just my two cents.

Maybe, a users first few post should have to be approved by moderators (but don't tell them), to make sure they are a decent person.

I made a program in QB64 that can click on these: It's just SO easy... I guess anyone who accesses websites the "correct" way wouldn't be able to do that though...

If you keep doing it, eventually it pops up the classic impossible to read picture thing.

Last I checked the site gets like maybe 1-3 new members a day. And I doubt anyone would go through the effort to fool it. Saying that, I'm sure there are better solutions.
