Meshes are 3D models to use in your 3D games. Think of any model in a 3D game. These are meshes composed of a whole bunch of triangles
How do people end up breaking their touch screens? I think you're the third person here that's had that happen to them.
So... no quad support? Boo, I hate this program before I've even downloaded it.
Just kidding, although quad support would be nice.
(I mean, as a joke, I'm making a Sega Saturn emulator, which means I need quads.)

Are quads not simply composed of coplanar triangles?

tris DO NOT equal quads

Please show me how. It was my belief that a quadrangle is composed of two coplanar triangles that have two common points.

They do equal quads, you just need 2 tris to make one. Although quad support would be convenient.

Let me explain. Most systems use tris. HOWEVER, there are a few systems, such as the Sega Saturn(and to an extent, I do believe the SNES) that uses quads instead of tris. This was partially why the Sega Saturn wasn't popular with 3D games, as it was a bit hard to make a 3D game without triangles.

Here is a nice video on 3D modeling with quads and tris.

The SNES didn't have any 3D capabilities at all I'm pretty sure.

it just has a super FX chip that allowed star fox and the unreleased star fox 2 to be in 3D
and doom and wolfenstien 3D just use simple raycasting engines
so yes, the SNES by itself is 2D
EDIT:oops i forgot to mention the super FX chip was actually named the M.A.R.I.O. chip and it was in the cartridges

Didn't realize people were picky about CPU.
Seriously though, the SNES can do 3D stock, and not that Mode 7 jack either, I'm talking Star Fox.
The catch? You're going to have a deathwish of about half a frame per second. But yes, I was referring to the Super FX chip when I said SNES.
Sidenote:No, they don't use raycasting engines, they use mode 7. Also, all consoles can be 2D, hell even the XBOX is 2D by itself.

Well anyway, it looks like the super FX chip used tris (unless it just used software rendering, in which case it would depend on the engine used), And iirc the saturn only used quads because they were an extension of the sprite system, where sprites are rectangular. (It would be awesome if SB could do something like that)
The download code for this doesn't work. I also think it's a little dishonest to use a screenshot from some other application as your screenshot.
