Actually, you could have an os that has a taskbar... on the bottom screen! So windows that are open but aren't on the front layer aren't rendered at all, just the one on top.

That could work, but if it runs them all at the same time, it's still going to be lagging on o3DS. Now you could have them all open at the same time, but it wouldn't run at the same time.

at least it wouldn't be flickering. real os' lag when there are too many windows open.
