Who else doesn't use a stylus that much when they're programming?

Do you use your finger instead or something? Or do you mean on a computer, not on SB?
Ahh, well I don't think that I could properly select something to touch if I used my finger.
For me it's fine, but I don't have much experience using SB otherwise lol.
I always use the stylus. In fact, the stylus is the sole reason I won't upgrade from my 3DSXL. The New 3DSXL stylus is way too short for me and really uncomfortable to hold while programing. Then just buy a different stylist, it's not expensive (i've got a Master Sword and Hylian Shield Stylist with my leather Zelda 3DS case).
But then I wouldn't be able to easily keep it with my 3DS. I really don't want to have to carry a case around with me everywhere I go. Being able to carry my 3DS in my pocket and whip it out to program wherever I am is the best. My best bet would be a telescoping New 3DS stylus (I really don't understand why Nintendo didn't make telescoping styluses for the New 3DS systems), but the only ones I could find were sold out.

I have a really bad habit.
When I did a lot of programming on the ds I kept my right thumbnail longer so it would be easier to use the touchscreen keyboard. I never used the stylus in anything.
I did the same thing in Kid Icarus and I think that was the reason why I destroyed tons of people online. Everyone was complaining about the controls and I was having no problem at all.
Now I mostly work with a keyboard so no more of that.
I still have my original stylus (somewhere in my house), but now I don't use any stylus, because my 3DS's stylus holder has gotten worn down, and now the stylus always falls out.
I usually use any pointy object I can find; preferably a mechanical pencil, but I'll use a regular pencil or even a pen (hopefully with the tip retracted). I have a screen protector, so I'm not damaging my screen or anything...
I usually use the included stylus for the N3DS (non XL) although I also have an extended, pen-like stylus in my N3DS case that I occasionally use.

Anyone know of an extendable stick that can fit in the ds? Failing that I will just buy a bigger one and keep it on my case like others do.
Oh my gosh... The thought of using anything but a stylus makes me cringe! I'll occasionally use my finger nails during games where you mostly use buttons and just need the touch screen occasionally (Like to get items in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, or nudging in Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon), but otherwise it's stylus all the way. That said, I don't have a screen protector and I've been really meaning to get one, although both my screens are still in pretty nice shape, and I've had my XL for... Almost two years, I think. I just can't imagine using a pen or something, but maybe I just take too much care of my system!
Anyways, I think I'm going to see if I can find a nice, pocket sized case. If I can find something that fits in my pocket comfortably and holds an extra stylus; that would be really nice.
