So you wanna make a game but *GASP* you only have 2.5 days WHAT? There's no theme this time. Make any game or program you want and submit by 11:59pm EST on March 31st. All voting will take place on April 1st (ending at 11:59pm EST). There are no cash prizes, but you'll get a badge for 1st and 2nd place (plus the participation badge). You cannot submit anything you've worked on previously. It must be made between now and the cutoff date. You must submit your page to the Programming Contest category. Get started already!

*clicks smilebasicsource.com link* WHAT IN THE oke i'll win this one for sure

There's no theme this time.
Shouldn't the theme be "April Fool's"/joke programs? Because I know if I submit a joke program against real ones I'll lose.

The person who advocated for no themes is now asking for a theme? Lol you've gotta make up your mind. Nah, it's so short. Since the voting is all going to be done on April 1st, you might have a better chance of winning if you go with the spirit of the day. But if you have a different idea that you think you can win with, I don't want to stop you from doing it.

if it were joke games then iamapersson would just have to port minecraft ds to win. I think this format is refreshing

out of place italics

Lol, so basically this is a at-home gaming jam.

Is it OK for me to take snippets of programs that crashed to make a compilation of all the times SB failed? There won't be any interactive code.

If you think you can win with it. Although, that's kinda a waste of a key in my opinion.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong but... I seem to be unable to add https://smilebasicsource.com/page?pid=748 to the programming contest. EDIT: Yes, I was doing it wrong. Thanks, randomouscrap, for showing me.

Can we use an engine that we made before this?

No, for this one you have to make the whole thing from scratch.

So libraries like regex and raycaster are not allowed?

Can we use BGM that wasn't made within the contest time period? Obviously yes for the built-in BGM, but you can't be sure!

Nope; this contest is all about what you can make from scratch in this short amount of time. Edit: You can use any built-in stuff you want, like sprites/music/etc.

Can I use languages that compile to SmileBASIC, such as N# or Lowerdash?

Yeah that's fine. As long as when people download it, it's just SmileBASIC code (which I'm pretty sure most compilers do)

IIRC Lowerdash requires a precompiler/runtime. does that count lol
