I'm not cheap. I don't have a use for it. I don't see a use for it. I don't need it. So I'm not going to buy a $20 card for a $6 dlc I do not want or need.

ok fine. But I got a $20 gift card to get SB, and I got a gold membership [which is broken now >:( ] and the sound DLC. don't expect any sympathy...

You are the one looking for sympathy. Or you are just being a dick, calling people cheap for not wanting to buy some dlc.

all this yelling about the sound dlc is stupid 12me you aren't helping by shoving it in peoples faces lacks you aren't helping by fighting back and making it into a bigger deal everyone shut up nobody cares if you want to buy it or not

"don't expect any sympathy..." I meant, when I upload programs with PCMSTREAM and stuff DEAL WITH IT

It's sort of a strange move to release a DLC pack that splits the user base. They should just lock people's source code if it uses DLC commands and the account that downloads the key doesn't own the DLC. Something that enables the user to still run the program without getting undue access to the DLC commands. After all the DLC is really for the benefit of the programmer, not the user. We could recreate any of the DLC commands in SB if we really wanted to, they just wouldn't be as good. All of that aside, if I decide to buy the DLC and use it, I'm effectively guaranteeing that some people won't be able to use my program, and I'd rather ensure maximum saturation. That's my prime motivation in not using it.

I think the better strategy is to make software that works properly without it if the developer chooses to enable those features. We should be researching alternatives.

Is there already any program that uses it?

making a usable alternative to FFT and most of the others is impossible.

FFT and BIQUAD are just mathematical algorithms at their core, so anyone with the knowledge could make them themselves. Very inefficient but it's still doable. Any ARYOP can be described with a FOR loop and some input data. You already made a non-DLC PCM player, so there you go. RINGCOPY can be cloned with some COPYs. This isn't a case against the DLC or anything it's just me calling you wrong

I bought it mainly to support SmileBoom, but I honestly don't care to use it. :P

I don't have the money to get the DLC.

But I want to get it someday.

You're th3 one who made WAVBGMPLAY, so why are you shoving this into people's faces; there are more important things to spend our money on than some commands, I'm sure we can go through this anyway if we pull the right trigger on @DHLPTX :) :(

I only made this thread to see how many people had/would get the DLC, so I could decide whether to upload my programs that use DLC commands...

I would have said that at the begining :x

What if smileboom only made this DLC to make some profit off petitmodem?

Wait, does the DLC allow for a better Petit Modem?
