Should the size section of a project's info removed?

While this may sound stupid, hear me out. With SBAPI's ability to report the exact size of any project, the size section is basically unnecessary. I feel like it should be either be removed, or replaced with a script that gives the exact size of a program from SBAPI (abbreviated, as well). EDIT: Request for change title to "Should the size section of a project's info be removed?" in order to fix typo.

no. sbapi could fail at any moment and is not an official component of sbs

couldn't have said it better myself.

That's true. Maybe it could be implemented like this: By default SBAPI is used to show the size of the project. If SBAPI is unavailable, then the manual size is used instead. It could also be implemented like this: When creating a page for your project, SBAPI looks at the key of your project and determines the size. The size is then saved to the site and isn't updated until the key is updated. If none of these options are good, I feel like at least an option for the latter implementation would be a good idea, or a SiteJS.

but why tho lemme stick this beautiful quote
sbapi is not an official component of sbs
we all agree sba pi is a great api but its not official SBS approved stuff™ so its better to not lock users to use it

True I guess I was wondering if there would be a way to manually implement it though like through SiteJS or something.

There is. Retrieve size through SBAPI and then modify the HTML element containing the size. Then, you could use SBS server user-variables to store which sites have been already queried.

How though

The size field was pretty pointless to begin with though Pretty sure it only exists because it was a thing on PTC wikia where the file size mattered since you had to scan QR codes

I would argue that it matters for people like me; low on SD card space and don't have the money to get a new one. But SB programs don't usually take a ton of space, and I still have 1000 blocks. (125 MB)

I guess in that sense it should be removed altogether.

WHOA WHAT I actually have 10000 blocks free (1250 MB)

...I managed to build up 643MB of files. Also, I think the size field is helpful when I want to know how long a project will take to download (so I can do other stuff in the meantime)

Hmm... this is an interesting point. I'll think about it for the new website (if I ever finish it).
