NeatNitCreated:
Is it possible to permanently change the region of a n3DS?
Because I really want the black n3DS (non - XL) because it looks so much better, but it's only available in Japan (and Europe maybe?). in the US, we only get the white one which doesn't look as good.
If there is an easy way to do it (AND you only need to hack your 3DS ONCE, and it stays in your region permanently), then I might consider it.

I'm pretty sure that's set in the bootrom. A more ideal method, however, is to "shell swap", basically take the guts from a white N3DS and put it in a black N3DS.

I haven't tested that under other CFWs.
Uhm, yea, you dont just put in "region=jpn" you would need to do some work, he was just saying that kernal can freely change the 3DS... idk i never tried, heh.allowing you to freely change the region and serial number of the 3DS.Wait what? Last time I checked, you had to get other region cias and get a SecureInfo_a dump from a 3DS never connected to the internet!
Well you don't need a legitimate SecureInfo_A if that signature check is patched (you'd stil need it if you wanted to use that region-changed system in the original, unhacked state). You can just change the region byte and the serial number. Now do a system format and it's like you got a brand new console. And yeah you still need the other region's CIA files.allowing you to freely change the region and serial number of the 3DS.Wait what? OH
Oh hi
I just decided I want to put homebrew on my old 3DS.
I'm looking at this hack through the home menu. (It seems to be my only option.)
https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenuhax
So from what I got so far, I need to put files on the SD card, which the 3DS will load as a theme and execute the code.
I think I have to do something to get the exact files for my version though?
It's an Old 3DS running Ver. 10.4.0-29U, the L button is broken if that gets in the way of installing it.

All you need to do then is run the installer and select the install option. You can change the trigger buttons with the "Configure/check haxx trigger button(s)" option so pressing L is not required to launch it.

I'm denied access to the web browser. It wants me to do a system update for it.Oh yeah, forgot about that, misread your version as 9.4. There's a workaround to the update nag.
Launch the Settings application Change the date to January 1, 2000 Change the time to 00:00 Launch the browser, then open the browser settings as fast as possible Scroll to the bottom and Initialize Savedata (it also may be called Clear All Save Data) as fast as possible Navigate to http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax_auto.php on your 3DS without closing the browser (if you get a slider, zoom all the way in on it, then tap the very right edge of it; this can take quite a few tries)
And press the A button when pressed the right edge of the sliderI'm denied access to the web browser. It wants me to do a system update for it.Oh yeah, forgot about that, misread your version as 9.4. Okay, this is what happens so far.
The page appears blank at first.
On the top screen, the browser says "Terminated script execution".
Then the touch screen turns yellow, then grey, then orange, and the browser crashes and i go back to the home screen with the error message.
About a slider, I don't see a slider.
I'm randomly tapping the touch screen and pressing the A button.
