I can't seem to get the file to send. I must be doing something wrong.

The microphone input on the 3DS is getting it's data from the microphone on the 3DS. Why isn't it getting it from my laptop?

The same thing is happening with my laptop.

Make sure the setup is how I explained it earlier. For reference:
Just plug them into the splitter, and then on the computer reverse the order the cables are in. The order should be the headphone port to the microphone port and vise versa for the other cable.

Everything seems to be setup correctly.

Does the application work with a New 3DS?

Yes. It actually works better with a New 3DS.

I'm using my New 3DS... Maybe the splitters don't work with 3DS. On the package it says "For PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone ect".

Do you have the correct application? Search a video for how to use PetitModem.

I already have everything setup. Here's what I did:
  • Download PetitModem for both 3DS and PC
  • Downloaded the image for transfer
  • Converted the image from JPG to PZG
  • Opened both applications
  • Setup the cords
  • Set both applications to run at 600BPS with retry
  • Loaded the PZG onto PetitModem
  • Ran PetitModem on PC
  • Ran PetitModem on 3DS

There are 2 standards for audio connectors with a microphone signal. Make sure the one you have uses the same system as the 3DS.

I'm not sure how to check. Here's the link to the splitter: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Headsets-Separate-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00Y458NA6

I might try and purchase the recommended red splitter.

Yeah I think that that's the way to go, so I probably won't get the requirements for petitmodem sadly. (I only have a laptop, so I would need 2 splitters and 2 AUX cables, aka $40.00)

You can use petit modem with just one standard sound cable. Just connect the 3DS to the mic input on a computer, so 3DS->PC goes through that wire, and PC->3DS goes through the air. I recommend putting blankets around the 3DS and speakers to prevent echos and reduce interference.

I would rather not deal with the constant noise of the transferring.

I'm glad I was the guinea pig of this situation. Other people might've gotten very angry.

I ordered the red splitters. They might be arriving tomorrow.

12Me21- I plan on showing the plot of the game through various images. When I finish modeling the scenes, do you mind transferring those images as well?
I should warn you, unless you are a gold member, there IS a limit to the file size that you upload. The everything quiz had to get a couple sprite sheets containing pictures from pics limited cut from the game, because the file was too large to upload.
I just wanted to say that if theres not enough room you can upload a separate single file and just put it into the game file very easily.

It's possible to fit two 400 by 240 images in one graphics page and I don't think I'll need more than three.
