Has SmileBoom ever deleted a program for copyright reasons?

I really wish I hadn't suggested the encryption idea...
The idea of a compressor / encryptor isn't a bad idea. The idea of using them to bypass the rules is, though.
Ugh, just don't have any copyrighted material in your games, is that too much to ask?
no, wait. Yes it is.
How?
They're fan games that aren't being sold for money. OR We're used to the freedom of programming offered by the unregulated internet on PC's

You gots a point.... Stupid copyright... It's good and then it's bad.

This is why I wish hadn't suggested the idea... A compressor would be nice for petit modem, though.
The LZSS package with PetitModem is a pretty good compressor as it is, perhaps one of the best we can possibly achieve. It's kinda sloooow though.

If you want games like mario, why not just type the game on your computer, then Petit Modem them over? It doesn't break any server rules because the server isn't involved in the first place. Just a suggestion.

But it breaks the game... If you want to directly port ptc games, you're gonna need to do some coding work yourself too. You'll need to convert it. Hoping someone would make a PTC to SB converter soon. Then we could transfer using SB file Transferring ( homebrew users only) or petit modem ( non homebrew users).

Well, the main reason is that Petit modem requires either a special cable, or a new 3DS, which many people don't have. You could use hacking like I did, but I can't get menuhax to work, and browserhax is a pain basically there is no good way to transfer stuff to/from SB

I've used only the built-in speaker and microphone on my laptop and old 3DS respectively several times with little issue. The "w/ ARQ" option was made specifically for people without the special equipment. However, I do the following to make transferring work better. 1) Put the microphone on the 3DS (near the touchscreen) face to face with your computer's speaker. 2) Turn down some settings on your computer so the fan doesn't rev up and cause environmental noise. 3) Cover the area with a thick blanket for sound insulation. 4) Go play Super Smash Bros. in a separate room for a while 5) Extract your electronic devices once you hear no sound coming from them.

Heh, I just convert the file To a .WAV, then put it on my phone, then use my phone and O3ds in a quiet place and keep repeating the horrid noise over and over until its done and I can save it.

I had to use a broken pair of speakers, man. Consider yourself lucky. :P

I had the 3DS right next to the computer speakers, with the 3DS sound output connected directly to the computer. using ARQ and the slowest speed, it still took over an hour to sucessfully send around 10 bytes. I was the only one in my house, and I was completely silent. Edit: what if we encrypt code to make it look like MML data? just change everything to ABCDEFG<>[]+-etc.

That sounds like a great and compicated idea... Probably not possible, but ok.... It never hurts to try, right? 26 letters plus symbols would be hard to do though.... Oh and also, I can get files more than 10 bytes easily...

maybe you have better speakers

maybe you have better speakers
I have shitty speakers.... and a o3ds isn't the best mic...

Theres a super mario maker clone but with default (and i think some custom) sprites and it allows you to edit the graphics to make it look like mario.
