As advice you probably already know the stars and kind of annoying as how they make it all blinky (if you did not not thats probably because you are on old 3ds) and some other stuff too so heres an idea: you create a few sprites and move them downward until they are out of the screen where they reset to the top at a new place. and idk why but areas with sprites on them also lag a ton so maybe look into why (ill look too)

I'll Change the speed of the stars going down I noticed it. I'm actually using a new 2ds XL Where do the sprites lag? I'll look into why :) Thanks for the feedback :)

not so much the sprites as the whole screen goes crazy in an area with sprites on the map

Wait does the glitch happen when there's random red spriites darting across the screen. Because that's the rain.

me neither. EDIT: i know its not the red rain as that is surprisingly working nicely right now. oh and for suggestion i would recommend adding circle pad support, if you don't know how i can tell you, its really simple and easy to add to most games and for me who is used to using it the D-pad gets me messed up in a games sometimes

Thank you. :) I always wanted a weather system, i'm thinking of adding thunder and lightning. And yes please, I don't know how. I tried and I got the character moving but the BG collision wouldn't work then so I removed it. :)

alright i just tested this and it works nicely go to the @MOVE place then put the following code:
STICK OUT SX,SY 'SETS UP BEING ABLE TO USE THE CIRCLE PAD
IF SX>0.6 THEN GOSUB @RT'RIGHT
IF SX<-0.6 THEN GOSUB @LT'LEFT
IF SY<-0.6 THEN GOSUB @DW'DOWN
IF SY>0.6 THEN GOSUB @UP'UP
and thats all. so what we have done is set up the circle pad for use (stick command) then checked if it is being pushed different directions if SX is >0.6 then is is being pushed right, but the 6 in 0.6 is so the movement is nice, however if you want you can move that down to say 0.3 and you will see difference as now you can go at an up right or up left angle and stuff like that, but doing that *may* with slight chance cause problems with the bg collision but idk. test around with that and if you dont understand something feel free to tell me

Oh cool, is it for celestruim? I have already added lightning to the first version of elaysia. It impacts story elements depending on the weather.

yep for Celestrium :), trying to make it a connected GLINE continuing until it gets to a point on the map or just a gline that flashes on the screen (making random connected points to form a lightning like look)
