Credits: 12Me21 - Created PTCPREPSB file prepper and PRINT5 for accurate print screen emulation MasterR3C0RD - Creating PC version of file parser and file conversion tools MYCRAFTisbest - SB parser, function library, SNDFILE, and anything else not mentioned Takes PTC files and applies changes and custom libraries to them to allow it to run in SB. It is far from complete and doesn't even support things like BG and sprite animations yet. Included is the file converter, a library that the converter adds to the top of files, a GRP named SPUDEF that contains SPU0-7 as a single GRP using PTC palette 15, a modified version of Sendfile for emulating SENDFILE and RECVFILE, and a few demonstration tools on how some of the features work. You will need to run prg files through this program created by 12Me21 before sending it to SB. http://www.galacticspaceagency.com/uploads/6/1/4/4/61446833/ptcprepsb.zip Place PTCPREPSB in the same folder as the file you want to convert and enter the full name and extension. This will replace the converted file so make sure you have a copy if you want to keep an unconverted version. For SPUs, you must use PTC UTILS to create a PNG with RGB mask of the SPU, then use the modified version of Aseprite to save them as a GRP. Make sure they are offset by N number of SPUs depending on which SPU it is. Multiple SPUs can be stored on the same sheet, especially if the game or program being used only switches them once at the start. Second screenshot is from village after successfully being converted with PTC to SB Version 0.3.0

KNOWN BUGS (with existing features)

  • LOAD and SAVE cause issues when loading file types that no longer exist
  • Keyboard entry in games is somewhat broken
  • Spanim, Spangle, Spscale, all missing proper implementation
  • BG is not handled whatsoever
  • MYCRAFT is bad at coding
  • Other things i'm forgetting, check the top of the program where comments of known/presumed bugs are

Instructions:

Instructions are presented when running the program. Thanks to 12Me21, we can now properly convert characters from PTC You can download it here: http://www.galacticspaceagency.com/uploads/6/1/4/4/61446833/ptcprepsb.zip Palette emulation for text as well as custom character fonts are not yet supported. (Same goes for all color palettes and GRPs)
★☆☆☆☆ Broken: Does not start, syntax error
★★☆☆☆ Menu: Crashes somewhere between booting and starting
★★★☆☆ Starts: Game will start playing, but will eventually encounter an error
★★★★☆ Playable: Game is playable with only minor graphical or audio bugs
★★★★★ Perfect: No issues whatsoever

^^^^^^ (Caret6) ★★★☆☆ (Main game is playable but edit mode is broken, text on lower screen is only white)

Dot Racer ★★★★☆ (minor color issues on title, sound issue when collecting dots)

Just An Adventure ★★★★☆ (Movement issues, possibly other issues)

Man: Hunter of Apples ★★★★☆ (Sprite of shiny red apple does not load)

MCDS ★☆☆☆☆ (Not even close to working)

Pinball ★★★★★

Race ★★★★★

RACEE ★★★☆☆ (Classic mode and Marathon mode work, all other game modes crash. Graphics are corrupt, requires manual modification of a few lines to boot)

RUNRUN ★★★★★

Tales From the Labyrinth ★★★★☆ (Game runs at wrong speed (used VSYNC 2 in place of VSYNC 1 to help) missing custom sprites

Tennis ★★★★★

Village ★★★☆☆ (River loads incorrectly, fish spawn off of river, can't fish. People in town will not talk to you.)

No other games tested, if you test a game, let me know and if I see it and can confirm it with me, I will add it to the list.

This is good, yes, but it doesn't support G-Zero... YET... Keep working hard, man!

Is there a way to make a version of ptcprepsb for SmileBASIC? If you have a PTC file on SmileBASIC, it would be useful if you could convert it from there instead of sending it to your PC, converting it, then back.

Nice concept someone is finally doing THIS yay

Yeah, except I've been far to busy with other things to work on this much. I still need to at least upload the newer version, which is far more accurate.
