Official SmileBASIC Source Programming Contest (November 15-December 15)

Yeah that's very true.... :/
Aww, man. I sent my 3DS to katsukity to get a capture card installed, and there's a backorder due to Sun and Moon coming out. I won't be able to participate in this contest. :c
Ya'll should definitely do more! :DD
Additional guess on the voting. No self voting unless you want to be called out and shamed in front of everyone. (Like last time.)
I think that voting for up to three programs sounds great. It will help to avoid people getting zero votes even if they might not be the best overall. And if there is a really close tie on first place pick, you won't feel torn for voting for just one of them.
But the other question I might ask regarding this new system, what happens in the case of a three way tie for first place?
Edit: P.S. for anyone who looks at MiiVerse I am MRΓίγαντας("Giant" in Greek letters).
maybe this?
A one week blitzkrieg death-match with a new theme and winner takes first? Like a Rock Paper Scissor AI vs AI battle!?If someone votes for their own project they don't need to be shamed. They have three votes (each vote can pick one thing I am assuming). If they spend one vote on their project, then big deal. Shouldn't the goal of this contest be to make something cool and have fun making it?
It's just the same as last time. No one is going to stop you from choosing your own project, and if it really is the best fit for the challenge, there's no sense voting for much worse entries. That said, maybe one person voted for their own project last time? I don't think it's really that much of a problem. Multiple votes should distribute them fairly enough.
If you aren't allowed to vote for yourself why do people submitting content even get to vote? Why release something if you aren't going to vote for it? Your basically admitting you half assed the contest you lack confidence and pride in your own work and you wasted your time.I disagree with your last statement. I liked what I made for the last contest. It took me a lot of time and effort to make my submission for the "color" contest. I really enjoyed playing/making UAG Drumpf. Instead of voting for myself I chose to vote for somebody else because I enjoyed their project.
there's some extreme cynicism in this thread I've always been a subscriber to the thought that participants voting is an ethics violation outright, but this is such a casual contest and you get unlimited votes! Who cares? I wouldn't be surprised if everyone voted for everyone.you forgot the /s

It says you can vote for as many entries as you want, so yeah you kinda doyou don't get unlimited votes...my post wasn't sarcastic at all?there's some extreme cynicism in this thread I've always been a subscriber to the thought that participants voting is an ethics violation outright, but this is such a casual contest and you get unlimited votes! Kinda sorta but that's not in the spirit of the rules. Rando said only 3 and I'm positive him and Lumage will be keeping an eye on the votes. Just like voting for yourself, it's an honor system we all have to be willing to respect in order for it to work. I know, real rich coming from the guy who thinks you should be able to vote for yourself. But rules are rules. Even if they are easily broken. Voting: When it's time to vote, a multivote poll will be created. You can select all of the programs you think deserve to win. Try to keep your votes down to like 3 programs max, but there won't actually be a limit. Just keep in mind: you're wasting a vote if you just vote for everything. The program with most overall votes wins.
You can vote for however many you like, but if you vote for all of them it doesn't change anything besides influence point inflation: you wasted your vote. That's why you should try to only pick three.
{0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0}
EctoBiologist votes for their three favorite games. they did not enter.
{0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 1}(x̄=0.42, σ2=0.24)
Johnny votes for only one game, also their favorite.
{0, 0, 1, 0, 2, 0, 1}(x̄=0.57, σ2=0.53)
JackTheGamer votes for all entries because they're a silly bitch.
{1, 1, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2}(x̄=1.57, σ2=0.53)
Stizzo votes for two entries.
{1, 2, 2, 1, 4, 1, 2}(x̄=1.86, σ2=0.98)
SteveTheNarwhal didn't learn geometry and makes six votes
{2, 3, 3, 2, 5, 2, 2}(x̄=2.71, σ2=1.06)
I'm not a chemist but casting fewer votes increases the weight of each of your votes.
The ""worst"" thing you could possibly do is vote for only your own entry, which, thanks to checking for alt abuse, is only 1 vote. The entries have perceived quality and people's own judgement systems should lead to accurate vote distribution in the end.
so if you want to shun an entry you can vote for all but theirs and it would serve as a negative vote?That's... actually a legitimate concern. Is there anything involved to protect from this oversight?
