Retro Remake God neko800 is on a roll! Unveiling nROGUE: The Young Person's Guide To The Dungeon! This roguelike rendition pays homage to the Mystery Dungeon series (Torneko/Taloon, Siren, and the well-known Pokemon brand). Featuring text logs, larger scrolling map, quick save, traps, and secret items! Does it get any easier to grab that Amulet of Nendor? You won't know until you try...

Instructions:

See Story & Controls (Notes:) -Amulet's on B26F and beyond, but the Ultimate Scroll's on B99F. Whoa! -Consider using RESTART Scrolls to dope up your weapon/armor by dropping back to B1F and read good scrolls over and over -Some scrolls (Identify, Food, Plating...) only show you the item list at first, and you won't know their function until after use. Instead of plating your armor you might turn it to food! -Yes, no one's stopping us from save-scumming, but only true heroes play fair!

I found a bug: If you use a food scroll, the resulting big food ration won't automatically stack with the other ones you have; you have to drop it and pick it back up.

I noticed that too...after I accidentally turned a good weapon into food. ?

We noticed during testplay but decided not to fix it. It's an in-your-face reminder for unfortunate rogues (like myself) that the new big food ration slot was once a powerful sword :p

What is the point of equipping ranged weapons (e.g. Wooden Arrows)? Can't I just select any ranged weapon from the inventory and shoot it? Or is it because later in the game there's some kind of weapon that consumes arrows?

They do basically no damage if you don't equip them

I like food scrolls They're great when you don't have any uncurse scrolls

Sorry for the late reply. As far as I know the only "graphic" is the title. Everything else is text, or ASCII art. The blood, the wall, symbols, everything. Neko800 used Hosiken's Font Editor [Z32E52NE] but modified some of the code for compression, so even I don't know how to edit using his. You only have 8x8 pixel to work with anyway

Yosuitaro modded this to eliminate some obscure bugs of which I have no knowledge. All I know is that his version is "perfect". His key: NS3EY384 Also, this thing on Petitcom BIG looks bootiful. Too bad we can't have it!

Ice maidens are way too powerful because they have 2 powerful things: 1. They can freeze you and you can't move 2. They can kill you instantly because of hypothermia These even appear on level 2, so they shouldn't be so hard logically.
