Wow browserhax is fun.
Get menuhax and ironhax, so you can keep your homebrew when Nintendo releases a new update.

You don't need any special way to run homebrew after you downgrade and install rxTools.

Should i downgrade now? or should I wait for my bigger sd card? Will backing up the current sd card and putting it on the new sd card, "break" emunand/homebrew?

Yeah, downgrade immediatly. You can move your files into a bigger SD card later. If you create an emunand on the current card you can transfer it to the new one as well.

why SHOULD i downgrade anyways?

So you can have a fully exploited device. Thus being able to install and run anything: games (even GBA and DSi), updates, DLCs and also homebrew software.

He would brick his device. 100% sure of that. :p

Don't forget various homebrew, like blargSNES. :p

lolwtf even you are here

I think just homebrew is enough for most people, no need to mess with the risky downgrading thing

Downgrade seems only a bit risky for the N3DS. I've seen a lot of people downgrade O3DSs without any issue at all.

Still, what are the benefits? For most casual users, there are no benefits.

You can install the .cia versions of emulators such as : BlargSNES RetroArch Gameyob And you can get a .cia version of homebrew launcher. You can also get emunand which is like buying a new system and putting your current one with the new one, it might be a little risky to do it, but its very worth it.

You can install anything. Isn't this a benefit enjoyable by all users, especially casual ones?

What can I install with it that I can't install for Ironhax? As for .cia, if that's what I think it is - home menu icons - then it's kinda nice, but not a deal maker and not worth the trouble. In the end, I don't really care what you do with your system - if you think it's useful, go for it. I just find it kinda weird/bad that you recommend it to people without even mentioning any actual benefits - at the end of the day it runs all the same games and all the same homebrew. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Homebrew Channel is limited to running homebrew and nothing else. A downgrarde allows us to run a CFW, which patches all relevant signature and integrity checks, allowing us to install commercial roms, updates and DLC (and also install homebrew straight to the home menu, just like a native 3DS app). And now it might not even be necessary to downgrade the N3DS anymore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds3BORGqXks

So is it still able to downgrade o3ds? I want to wait more for my sd card.

Oh, piracy. Why didn't you just say you had no respect for game developers? I wouldn't have wasted my time.

So is it still able to downgrade o3ds? I want to wait more for my sd card.
Yeah. downgrading the O3DS is mandatory. You should do it now. I told you can just transfer your data to a new SD card fine later on.

I have no respect for shovelware developers. I hope you have significant evidence of software piracy hurting good developers (or any kind of piracy causing damage to any competent content creator).

Then why in hell would you want to play their games?

It's not about that, it's about doing the equivalent of spitting in their face. Any game you illegally download is a game that you could have bought. If it's not worth your money, just don't play it. If you think a publisher is overcharging, too bad, just don't play it. Wait for a sale. There is absolutely no argument that makes piracy moral. I guess your username is right.

Oh, so now it's MANDATORY to do something that's completely useless and carries an unnecessary risk and requires technical knowledge to maintain? Yeah, right.
