is there some kind of limit to how much of a map/background can be displayed at one time because i have a background and when i try to go past the first 20 tiles along the x axis it just cuts off there. i don't know if i explained this right because i'm a little groggy today but that's what's happening.

i did not. i just loaded it and tried moving it along the x. i just went down along y and it worked fine that way so it's all good now.

is there a way to have something changed based on the time of day?

I just checked, and to my surprise there is a string named TIME$ which outputs the current time! You could do something like HOUR=VAL(LEFT$(TIME$,2)) to get the current hour.

well it seems to be working but the only way i can REALLY tell is to wait until later.

You should use TMREAD instead of parsing TIME$
TMREAD OUT HOUR,MINUTE,SECOND

k so day and night are now in the game but i made two separate sprite sheets to accommodate but then dumbass me accidentally replaced the daytime sprite sheet with the nighttime one. so now i have to re-edit the nighttime one so i can have the daytime sprite sheet. i'm probably overcomplicating this but it works for me so i'm not complaining. on another note i'm trying to make a menu for a guide. i should probably make a video document or something so you can see what's happening over here. i'm gonna go to sleep right now though so goodnight guys.

ok. so i'm gonna need to figure out how to get enemies to come into battle then start making collision or something.

sorry i haven't had any updates for like 2000 years. i guess i'm on a break in development. i am making this all on my own currently (and yes i did announce the possible need for playtesting but there's literally nothing to test so far) but i'd kinda rather do it myself with some community help because i need to learn. i still need to make a video detailing everything that's happening right now. i'm hoping that i have that spark that makes me want to do this again soon because i'd really like to get this game finished and hopefully shared here. so that's just in case anyone was curious because i was on a game development high just a couple weeks ago.
