can you post only the file that crashes ? i would really like to see what's going on ...
It's the SETUP but when run as is without running the desktop and launcher code before it, it runs as intended.

OK i downloaded, deleted the code that didn't allow me to use it since i use o3ds, and tried it. gave this weird error screen, pressed X and bawm. apparently the EXEC"SETUP" ks what crashes it. im looking at both launcher and shell to see what could make it crash ...

The EXEC to SETUP itself doesn't crash, I've seen the PRG label (holding L/R) change to SETUP before the crash occured.

Okay, I figured out why the crash in the setup occures. I removed the XCMD.LIB library from slot 3 in the setup to prevent "Duplicate function" but load it into slot 2 so the unpack routine can use it. But I believe this confuses SmileBASIC on where my custom commands in the library are and once the FNT command is hit. I believe that it know that the command exists but doesn't know in which slot it was, assumes slot 3 but it was cleared out and so it tries to run my command that it couldn't find. So, I just request the user to press START instead. Yes, using CONT still causes the crash.

yeah, im a pro-modding+no-piracy guy (except a single ds game that i played for 2 days) mod is nice
Totally agree. Though I use a USB Loader on my Wii U (vWii), but only with my own backups that I ripped from my discs. Way better performance, and it even revived my old Wii that couldn't read discs anymore.
Yeah, although I first modded my 2DS 2 months ago, I only use private backups and still buy games if I haven't got'em. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Back to サカキバラUI... Another potential way to crash SB is... whatever I did... And it's consistent. Y'know what, though I haven't finished it, and the start menu is useless now, I'll release it with this bug, so someone can examine why it crashes. And no, I have NOT used CONTROLLER. I have no idea why it crashes.
How to replicate- Unpack this new version as usual (if you haven't already) - Launch サカキバラUI and get to the settings (now as desktop icon) - Choose "Region & language" and select "??? (???)" (not allocated to any language) - Accept the dialog box and press X to start the setup - Bam! Either you get kicked back to the HOME Menu or Luma throws you an Exception error with stack and register dumps. (Of course, either stock or Luma, and exception handlers enabled or not)
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Speaking of, Vodafone finally managed to enable our router again. Yay. \(^o^)/ EDIT: Typos and further digging to see whether someone encountered that before
YES. Now publish the next beta pls Finally

My research points that it isn't FNT what crashes, but the first GRADIENT call instead. The 3 FNT calls (FNT"FNT"FNT"APP850" and FNT"FNT" work surprisingly) I'm still intrigued on this, and will continue to explore

----------BUG REPORT---------- SpaceShip for some reason is not present, I have successfully created a shortcut, but the game doesn't seem to appear. Where is it? I can't just find the reason of why the minigame doesn't appears... At least reporting bugs is a good thing though...

Things I noticed: 1. There is no Login screen. 2. The manual is missing stuff. 3. The WinXP-style windows are not present by default (but can be activated by setting _WINDOW_STYLE to 1).

1. There hasn't been a logon screen in a while 2. It's a beta, it's expected to not be complete 3. Æsthetic desicion, maybe?

1. There hasn't been a logon screen in a while
Of course not; most people usually say login (from what I've experienced) (also this is a joke)

Nah, I'm just making an observation A slightly off-topic one Let's get back on topic.

I believe I messed with it because the startmenu didn't run properly but turns out I did typos in the code for the start menu and never got around to reverse the changes on that. The game as the app does run but the ON_OPEN() function (MidoriOS leftover) prevents it from executing the game's code. Thank you for the report, I'll fix it.

1. The login/logon screen has been removed from the bootup because I felt it wasn't necessary anymore. 2. I wasn't able to make all pages, the index is finished (for now) though. 3. I didn't code the settings to let you change the window style to the XP style. (I'll add it in but keep in mind that the theme color will be disabled for the theme.) ↑ Generally, for both of these issues: I rushed the new version so people can examine the setup crashing SB with me. Cleaning up the rush and adding stuff along the way should have covered it for now.

I'm sorry everyone but it seems I really have an issue. I always have problems with my SD cards... GodMode9 will not read my SD card and crashes upon trying. My サカキバラUI dev project has got the __SHELL (desktop code) corrupted. FBI reports the size of the file to be 0 bytes. 5 other files in the SB ext data got affected as well... But also TWiLight Menu++'s main.srldr and around 6 CTGP-7 courses. All of these files have their size changed to 0 bytes and the sd://LOST.DIR/ has got like thousands of files in their and IDK which one was which as all files in there have their name changed to a random number but have the original size. The biggest one was 3 GB... >.> Thankfully the package was still intact and CTGP-7 doesn't crash upon loading these courses. TWiLightMenu++ on the other hand just got stuck on a white screen and required a full reinstall.

Five words, hex editors are your friend Can you give details about your SD card? Brand, size, seller? I can try to make suggestions for you. If you have ANY Windows computer (Windows 7 or higher), scan the SD card for file system errors. There may be something similar available for Linux.

He doesn't have ANY computer.

Hex editors sure are bit how should they help here? Modifying core system files with potential bricking involved. The card is a 32GB class 10 microSDHC card by EM Tec according to the package it came with. I formatted it as FAT32 along with 1 "RedNAND" partition in case something happens to the system's CTR- or TWLNAND.
He doesn't have ANY computer.
I do have my own PC but unoperational due to missing RAM and monitor. But I used my school's PCs to check the FS but they report that it's OK. In my school's student company I did a full scan of it and yes, fixed the bad sectors. These files are doomed to be unrecoverable sadly. (But how did these bad sectors became bad when the card is ~5 months old and I use the "safe eject" feature on my tablet and school PCs. Perhaps my tablet is getting ready to kill itself once again... or I am the most unlucky person technology-wise.)

Could it be because of Homebrew software? If you got homebrew on the N2DSXL, it could've caused the corruption.

It's highly unprobable to get your SD card corrupted by having homebrew lol.

No, remember a year ago or so I posted that stuff went wrong and I believe this is the same occurrence. When my PC's ready on christmas day, I'll quickly back up everything on my SD, tablet- and 3DS system memory to the 1TB disk on my PC.
Why?You can never be too careful. Sure I'll not make tons upon tons of backups but I could.
