A simple chatroom for possibly up to four players. It has only been tested for up to two players, though.

Instructions:

After everyone joins and chooses a name, press the R button to begin typing a message.

I am planning to get a New 3DS XL in the future, and keep my current 3DS XL - I will then transfer all my stuff to the N3DS and re-purchase SmileBASIC on the old one so I can develop multiplayer stuff :D

I wish they would release the normal new 3DS outside of japan... My 3DS is starting to break (The microphone has been broken for a while, and the L button just broke (I'm ordering a replacement for both now)).

It's been released in Europe alongside the N3DSXL, so it's just America, not "outside of Japan". What's more, America already has it in the form of the Animal Crossing New 3DS. Maybe there's been other versions since, I don't know.

The problem is that the animal crossing version costs about the same amount as the n3DSXL Well, I don't really have the money for any version of the n3DS anyway, and my old one still works. I'll worry about this in a few years.
