Replying to:IAmRalseiAll documented glitches. Spoilers for this demo ahead!
Glitch 1 - Infinite heart container Glitch
it does what it says on the tin.
STEPS TO REPODUCE:
step 1 - beat the game and save
step 2 - load your file
you'll notice you have 2 hearts of health
step 3 - replay 1-4
step 4 - collect the heart container
and BAM! 3 heart containers!
Glitch 2 - Second Adventure (not sure if this one is a glitch)
Replay the game with all items gotten on a previous playthrough
steps to repoduce:
step 1:beat the demo (or load save data from after you beat the demo)
step 2:enter the door for creating a new file
and then you will have all items gotten on the first playthrough in the second one!
Glitch 3 - The SPOFS error
AAAAH THE PROGRAM CRASHED
SPOFS ERROR!!!
steps to reproduce:
step 1 - use Second Adventure
step 2 - go a few screens in
And now for the generally bad decisions:
...that's it.
usually run is set to Y or B (b is an impossibility because of
Spoiler
the sword)
BUT Y ISN'T USED BY ANYTHING!
alternatively you could also make it so that either X or Y could be used to run
Given that A is jump and B is sword, I would think X is the best option for run. You're more likely to use run in conjunction with jump, so it makes sense to keep the button close to A.
Woah.
I downloaded this not expecting much. Then I was genuinely impressed with the overall quality of the thing you released. The physics are good, the (partial) spritework is good, it feels good, it's tight, responsive, and most of all: fun. I can't say that about most SB projects.
The first level blew me away. "Woah, you can hang off ledges!" Then, right after, "Woah, combat!" and of course, "Woah, there's portal mechanics that actually work!"
The boss I was a bit bored with at first. It seemed like it was very simple, with a cut-and-dried solution I just wasn't able to see. But when I saw the actual use of terrain to help in the fight, I was again genuinely impressed.
Some little nitpicks, I thought the hanging mechanics are overused a bit. They are nice, and it's satisfying too see, but I'd like to see some jumps I can land on my own.
Of course, the collision needs some work (especially around areas where you do hang on ledges). It didn't hurt the gameplay, though; it's just a minor annoyance.
I think the decor here is kind of bare, there may be room for some backgrounds and such.
Other than that, though...great job! I can't wait to see more of this!

i prefer it being just Y than just X
i think a good compromise would be having both.

Alright, I'll add that to an update. Thanks for the feedback!
Also, as much as I love a good glitch or two in a game, I think that as the developer, it's my job to have as few of those as possible. I'll try to fix that stuff.

Wow, thanks so much! I'll try to make the collision behavior more accurate, and I'll add some more backgrounds. Thank you for your feedback!

as few of the gamebreaking ones (such as the SPOFS error) as possible
funny & fun glitches (such as the other two) should be left in.
that's the part most developers don't realize. some zelda:ocarina of time and zelda:majora's mask 3D devs know this and added that in OoT 3D and MM 3D
I got stuck on a ledge during the first boss fight.
oh no now i have to find a way to edit my comment about all documented glitches to have this glitch with credit to you for finding it
Oops. This game is not without its faults, it seems :D

How about here?
Hey, anyone who watches this page! The title of "Adventure" is not permanent (I'm just not creative enough to come up with a good one), and I'm open to suggestions on what to call it. My plan is to make it an RPG with a story of some kind. If you can think of a good name for it, please feel free to let me know. Thanks!
Like Chem said, it's quite impressive for such a seemingly simple game. The sprites could use a little more work but they're alright. The physics though are pretty cool. I can learn a new thing or two from that.
Awesome!
(I'll be sure to write a better review after playing it more)

Let’s call it cool quest because i’m equally uncreative
