You need a splitter like this if you want to plug something into the mic input of a 3DS: http://www.amazon.com/Extrasensory-Devices-ESDHW011-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B006T65CXE
Using P/SEND

I'm trying to figure out how to use it, but, well, I can't! I have male/male audio cable, but nothing seems to happen when I use that (Plus I don't see how it's possible for the 3DS to receive data through an outputting headphone jack). I also tried taping an ear bud up against the mic, which seemed like it may have worked, but O couldn't figure out how to tell it the sound is done. A video tutorial would be nice if anyone could figure it out!
You mean to say the audio port on the 3DS is a combo headphone/microphone port?
- To answer my own question: on the page http://smilebasicsource.com/forum?ftid=7 Techokami writes "3DS uses a composite headset connection." I did not know that. It's good news.
