NHK World recently aired their Indie Games Special #2 on the imagine-nation feature. SmileBASIC gets some nice highlight, and they interview its creator, Kobayashi-san.

The portion of the show involving SmileBASIC (and a smart watch game) is from around the 11-minute to 24-minute mark. The smart watch game creator is there along with Kobayashi.
The video will be available at that link until January 12.

Interestingly, Kobayashi makes a comment about western expansion at the 21:55 mark.
"It's become difficult to sell in Japan, as free software has become the norm here. So we're working to shift our focus to the US. We're planning to establish a local subsidiary there next year."
Of course, this was recorded in late 2015, so "next year" would refer to 2016.
