Long time no see! Haven't touched SmileBASIC (my 3DS entirely, tbh) in over a year or two because of my 3DS's frame horribly breaking. :( Haven't gotten a replacement yet (for either 3DS or frame).
In fact, I haven't done much game dev in a while. (studies, job and whatnot)
Tried pygame today, but it kinda sucks! Made a quick wrapper of sorts to make it more tolerable (lol)
Not too bad for a few hours work

Have you tried out Lua and Love2D? Imo I like it a lot better than what I remember of PyGame.
Also, I was working on a SmileBASIC-like thing for Love2D. You can find it here! It's in a mostly-working state.
I haven't tried LÖVE yet. I'll make sure to check it out (and your library). :)
Not a fan of Lua, but maybe it'll work out.
I'm surprised I haven't found something as friendly as SmileBASIC for quick game dev. I've tried tools and frameworks, from GameMaker (a bit confusing) to Unity (really slow), but nothing seems to offer a similar balance of control and convenience.
If it really comes to it, I might just finish the pygame wrapper, cause I really like Python.
