This program allows you to use you 3DS to find out how far away a place or object is from your current location using trigonometry. [In real life!]

Instructions:

You must be standing or know how high off the ground the 3DS is for this to work. Knowing your height and standing is usually the easiest option. What you do is enter your height in one of the available units. Then hold the top edge of the upper half of the 3ds up to your eyes and look straight ahead of you. From there, press Y to reset the gyroscope so you get more accurate results. Lastly, tilt the 3DS forward until the top edge lines up with the base what you're finding the distance for (or if it's a piece of land then just line it up with exactly where you want to find the distance for). Once you've line everything up, press R to lock in the angle that is to be used for calculation Your done! The result should be displayed in Inches, feet, and centimeters. NOTE: I don't think it works for things above you're straight line of sight (things that would appear to be above the horizon). As this is v1.0, the readings may not be too accurate, depending on how you hold the 3DS when you tilt it and the 3DS's gyroscope itself. ANOTHER NOTE: When entering your height in FEET AND INCHES, you must separate feet and inches with a comma like so: FEET , INCHES

perfect now I can see how far the remote is from my bed and decide if its too far away or not :P

This is a really interesting concept!

Thanks! I had the idea to make a program for this after remembering my brother and I doing this in a field manually with a protractor.

This is so clever!

now we can use the 3ds as a bootleg joycon.
