Well people do have the option to give money if they want to, and just because some stranger online is asking for money doesn't mean everyone tell them to pirate video games. You could give money or you could not give money. It's your choice.
(also I choose no 'cause I'm saving and I am not gonna give money to a stranger online. Sorry.)
(also don't pirate; it's bad and people here should understand this more than others. It's a computer programming community, do you all want to encourage people to steal your money?)
This is only what i think but:
Piracy is not bad. Sometimes it allows a game to continue existing (exploation on ios for exeample or petitcomputer too)
And Piracy can also make known a game.
All is not black and white.
And, generally, developers prefer that you pirates a game rather than buying it on sites like instant gaming like that, nobody has money
Piracy is bad. Even when the game is considered abandonware, I still think it's piracy. I know, I know, you might say "but it isn't purchasable anymore, so it isn't piracy anymore and they aren't losing money" and I couldn't be more agree with you, but it's still piracy. Also, "developers prefer that you pirate games"? So that's why games have intricate anti-piracy mechanisms! To encourage piracy! (if the sarcasm wasn't clear, that thing that devs encourage piracy is ridiculous). "nobody has money"? Well, people have money! I haven't pirated a single game, song, or piece of software in my whole life. Many of my friends haven't either. Many people from some Discord servers I've been haven't either.
TL;DR: Piracy is bad, and it'll always be bad.
While we on this topic, someone paypal me $500 real quick. Imma buy a new switch cuz my old one got stolen. (This is a joke)

But, if you purchase it on websites like instant gaming or humble bundle, the dev will not get anything. What are you even talking about lol the devs get paid at the moment these websites add their software to their bundles since they have to buy it lolPiracy is bad. I don't know why the subject for this thread changed to piracy. The person who started this thread was asking for money, not a CIA. They were trying to obtain the game they wanted through "legitimate" means. I feel like the subject shouldn't have been changed to piracy, but the post should definitely still be addressed.
Asking for money on this site is more than just off-topic, it's also disrespectful to the community on the site. SBS isn't GoFundMe, it's supposed to be about SmileBASIC. Sure, slightly off-topic threads may be fine, but this crosses the line. It's things like this that will be this site's downfall.
Please refrain from asking for money on the site, and try to save up money to buy Animal Crossing. I really don't recommend resorting to piracy though.
