Namco allows their IPs to be used here- Where's Pac-man, folks?
On GameFAQs, it says that Bandai-Namco actually allows their IPs to be used here, like Dig-Dug or Pac-man. Yet no one's tried making them? Do you think no one caught on to this and was scared of copyright? I'm confused.
... Well that's friggin' dumb. Plus, SmileBoom won't let us post anything that's not 100% original? EVEN DUMBER.
... Well that's friggin' dumb. Plus, SmileBoom won't let us post anything that's not 100% original? EVEN DUMBER.Not 100% original? There are lot of clones (or not 100% original content) in here: the awesome Super Bearland with it's Wumpus mode [Hunt the Wumpus], Virtual Buffalo with the rhythmic minigames concept which is used by MANY games nowadays, and I could name you more.
Actually, if handled correctly (Giving credit to the original creator, not being a direct copy-paste, etc), you COULD possibly publish a copyrighted game under fair use. FNAF may have another chance, since FNAF SB didn't. Maybe even Mario!
My Bomberman 3DS Revival Project is in development right now, and I'm waiting for the concepts of the final world of the game to come. I hope SmileBoom doesn't take down my revival project. Otherwise, there would be no Bomberman on the 3DS at all! 🤔
Did you make sure to credit Namco in it?
If you did, you shouldn't have to worry, probably, since it falls under fair use.
To be clear, SmileBoom will take down anything published if it contains copyrighted material. Even if credited, under fair use, whatever. And it's better for them and for us to do so, because if they keep it, they can get a DMCA strike and bye-bye SmileBASIC servers.

can we get this thread closed please... I am deleting SmileBASIC and this account. Fuck you, SmileBoom.
