NeatNitCreated:
These are things that I find missing in the forum, which can be found on practically every other forum. In rough order of importance:
  • When viewing a list of threads, there needs to be a button or link to go to the LAST post (or page) of the thread.
  • (big one, and not as important) The forum should keep track of read and unread posts. Threads with new (unread) posts will be highlighted or have a different color/icon.
  • If the unread thing is implemented: clicking on the thread icon for a thread with new post, will automatically bring you the the first unread post in that thread.
  • Most forums will mention the OP (Original Poster) of a thread in the list of threads. Currently, SBS only mentions the last poster.

The OP is pretty useless if you think about it. How many threads have you seen ANYWHERE where the OP continued to be an important voice? I also don't want discrimination: if the OP is someone people don't like but they're not even part of the thread anymore, I don't want people to avoid the thread. The last poster is a better indicator of who's partaking in the thread currently. I'm sorry, I'm probably not going to do this one (not because it's hard, but because I don't agree with the importance of the OP).

I can do this soon... hopefully Done, "Last post" text links to last post.

I... mmmm I didn't set up the forums to do anything like this. I'd have to rewrite a lot of stuff. I'll think about a way to implement this, but I'm not sure about this one. Just watch the threads you want to be notified about and set your settings to automatically remove notifications when you visit the page... it'll work about the same.

Thanks! I see your point about the OP, you're probably right. As for unread - I assumed that it would be something along those lines, which is why I said it's a big one. It's honestly, probably not worth the time and effort it would take, so I'll leave the decision to you (as it's always been :P), if you decide not to do it that's fine. Thanks for the quick add, I'll go test it out right now! Edit: works like a charm!
