You’d get species too similar in color and the sheer amount of species would be a large and daunting task to program individually (traits and what not).
Idea: a Pokemon-like game

Today thanks to the chat an idea came to me.
There should be a game that plays just like Pokemon, except there are actually 32'768 species to find.
One species represents one color.
SB's colors are very limited: using RGB, one may find that there is only a new color after every 8 steps. With that in mind, we might as well see SB's RGB as if white were "RGB(31,31,31)" instead of "RGB(255,255,255)" (correct me if I'm wrong, also I don't explain it very well maybe)
So there are 32³ different colors in SB, which is equal to 32'768.
Their names could be automatically generated using something like base-26!
And like someguywhomak explained in the chat, the highest value would be the species' type. For example, if the red value is the highest, it is a fire-type. If all three values are equal (which gives a black/gray/white color), it is a normal-type. And so on.
Now I'm not really sure how the overworld or the story would look like. I'll just leave this idea here and let other people use their imagination!
You’d get species too similar in colorLike I said, names could be automatically generated based on their color value, so two different species that look almost the same would still have different names.
the sheer amount of species would be a large and daunting task to program individually (traits and what not).Make an algorithm that generates all those traits automatically based on their color value. That's the whole point of the idea!
