How do I do off-topic polls?

I don't know if this would fit on this section, but I'm just asking how do I do off-topic polls. Example: I mean, polls that DONT have an URL. They are wandering polls, that they don't have any "Home" Thread. Could someone tell me how to do this?

Press the poll button, generate the poll, cancel creating the thread, go see the home menu.
