How are you even able to test a GB emulator? Did you somehow get a ROM binary file into SB?
[OLD] SmileBOY - Game Boy emulator for SmileBASIC
How are you even able to test a GB emulator? Did you somehow get a ROM binary file into SB?Maybe it works with Homebrew stuff?
This would be a very challenging project, given the limited features in smilebasic. Not to mention, speed issues. Smilebasic is a pretty slow language, when you throw a virtual machine on top of it, it will only get slower. But don't let that discourage you, it's a cool idea.
I would like to be a tester. Not actually program any of it (I suck at that) but it sounds like a great idea and I would like to test and report issues, bugs, etcI don't have one; but hey, if you think it's too slow on your system or something, then #ToungeKnowledge:PThat's what the n3DS is for ;)Well darn you. Not everyone has an extra $200 in their pocket.
Cool! It doesn't matter if you have an O3DS or a N3DS, eventually, both will be compatible and aimed to run it at full speed.
How are you even able to test a GB emulator? Did you somehow get a ROM binary file into SB?The Tetris ROM is only 33 KB. My RPG I'm working on in SmileBASIC is 40 KB. You could easily transfer this over in less than an hour with PetitModem, or instantly with Homebrew. For my RPG I had to transfer over some binary image files that were nearly 300 KB big and I just let it run over night.
I WANT AN EMULATOR ON SMILEBASIC, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOw:P I'm working on it, but I'm just too confused... I have done emulation before.
How are you even able to test a GB emulator? Did you somehow get a ROM binary file into SB?Convert gb/gbc rom into a grp file, send over using petit modem, interpret/convert to sb code. Possible? Yeah. Easy? I'd guess not any more difficult than making a normal emulator, I can't tell you for sure but I don't see why not. Full speed? I doubt it but it's impossible to know without trying. Honestly the only thing that bothers me is how it'll look on sb when an official app is being used for emulation, but I see no reason why this couldn't happen especially when you consider SB is being ported to more powerful consoles like Wii U. Eventually weak console emulation will happen. Don't hate the player hate the game, or rather Nintendo won't hate the player but the game the player is playing, which is more or less anarchy.
