Yeah I suppose that could work.
Yes. If you sound out words in katakana to sound like english words they will work.
Unfortunately some words will just sound very Japanese サニクラ ブーム will sound like "soniku boomu"
You can also create simple phrases in english like "OK CU" (I'll end apps this way sometimes) since the synth will speak each character. It sometimes helps to speed the voice up or change the pitch when messing around with phonetic phrasing.
