This is the first main program I am making. It is a game where you basically shoot coins to receive them. There is information shown on the bottom screen, such as:
  • Coin Count
  • Game Logo
  • Basic instructions
  • Player Speed Upgrade Count
  • Bullet Speed Upgrade Count

This game saves certain data so it will be available next time it is opened, such as:
  • Coin Count
  • Player Speed Upgrade Count
  • Bullet Speed Upgrade Count
This information is saved in the GAMEDATA.DAT file. To reset the data, just delete that file. Next time you open the game, it will prompt you to create the file again.

Instructions:

  • Press A to shoot
  • Press B to open menu
  • When in menu, press UP and DOWN to change selection
  • When outside of menu, press UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, or CIRCLE PAD to move the character
  • When in menu, press A to select item
  • Press L or R to change the direction that the character is facing

This is an awesome game! This is my personal opinion but I think the coins look a little stretched. It would also be cool to have an upgrade for more than one bullet on the screen at once.

Thank you very much!

Very nice.

Thank you very much!

Uhhh why does my name have a star on the bottom screen? That's just a star given to admins. (though a half star doesn't really count being as an admin (eh whatever)) But still, neat concept! (I think?)

You're very welcome!

I repainted this program to have a space-like theme. I worked about 5 hours, total, on this, I think. (My Activity Log said something similar to this, I think.) I'm proud of it; I hope others like it. Thank you very much, to atm959, for creating the original. I think atm959 has given me permission to share this. Thus, I will do so. The public key of my repaint is 8EDQK3J4. Changes:
Spoiler
  • Changed sprites to fit the space theme as desired(The player is now a spaceship, the coins are now UFOs, the clouds are now meteoroids, the bullets are now missiles, and the police officer is now a reclaiming spacecraft.)
  • Added a "story"(The player is trying to destroy UFOs, steal remnants, and use them to upgrade their ship. The reclaiming space crafts will attempt to reclaim the remnants in hopes of using them to repair or maintain UFOs)
  • The background has been changed to just white dots, intended to resemble stars in space. I had intended to make them move, as if you were flying through space; however, I failed to do this.
  • The text in the game has been changed to be mostly, if not completely, white.
  • The background is now hidden when the upgrade & save menu is opened.
  • Various text has been changed to fit the new theme of the game.
  • Various text has been changed to reflect that this is now a repaint.
  • Various text has been changed to a way I find to be more proper.
  • Shop prices have increased.
  • The reclaim spacecraft is more aggressive than the police officer. Its speed is now reliant on the player's amount of coins and movement speed upgrades. The more optimal the player is, the more difficult escaping it becomes.
  • The re-spawn speed of the reclaim space craft is now reliant on the amount of upgrades the player has. The reclaim space craft is also able to re-spawn at different places now.
  • The game now shows a sad emoticon, :^(, in a message created by the DIALOG command in a message titled Sob sob, if the player chooses not to save the file that is used for save data during the initial start, despite the game kindly requesting that they do so.
  • The game now saves and displays the highest amount of UFOs the player ever had (I hope that people will enjoy this feature. My highest amount is 59, which was done with no upgrades, I think. Seeing as the reclaim spacecraft's speed increases as your coins increase, it will become harder to survive. I think this is a positive influence that may create a desire to compete, hopefully, in a friendly manner).
  • Increased default speed of player and missile movement.
  • Changed music and sound effects used.
  • Copyright text was added.
