UT Battles Development

Root / Programming Questions / [.]

randoCreated:
This is gonna be the thread for a project I have been inspired to work on by BASICTALE. Because BASICTALE is hard to fit to any program, I have decided to make a somewhat light simulator that runs undertale-style battles. It basically just reads data from a different PRG program, (you will be able to write this data!) and using that data runs a fight. I have an almost-working prototype that I shall release in the next week or so. It will run the program using a library anyone is free to use, but I need help with that. Here you won't really be helping development much by programming or sprite work. That's my job. Here you can suggest features you want in the game, eg. new attacks, new player modes (like the red is normal, blue has gravity, etc.). I will be including all or most of the default player modes, so don't worry too much. As for custom attacks, the library is mostly optional. You only really need it to set the player mode. The other stuff will be for convenience. When I release a working version, I will include a full guide on how to use it.

Now we have a DANG AWESOME attack-the-enemy system

I almost have a full working system. You can fight the enemy, the enemy can fight you, the enemy can die, and I only need to adjust a few things and make it so that you can die. Then I can add a ton of presets, and upload the first version. If you want, you can request a type of attack preset you want to be added, like dragon blasters, spears of death, or whatever you want. Make sure to include details so that I can understand what you are asking for and implement it to best fit what you describe. After I release this, you will be able to implement your own attacks, so you may add any attack you want instead of suggesting it here. That way, you can add any attacks you wish, and shape them in whatever way you want. Now it's poll time: [poll=p595][/poll] Closes on the 18th, enter your votes before then!

So now I only need to add a graphic-section rotation function, and presets. The rotation function shouldn't be too hard, thanks to GPAGE; for presets, it's gonna be time to get creative.

Time to make presets! And to edit a few things...

Wow I forgot to close the poll lol Looks like I'm making a ton of presets I have 5 right now... out of like 200
