Because of copyright, Could someone make a super mario maker clone on smilebasic NOT using mario?

I would love a game like that!

I think it's possible. The touch pad could be used, and you could place objects to make a course. What wouldn't work well though is the level sharing. There's no way to upload and download things other than to local 3DS's near by. Try to make it!

Well I knew there is no online, but Thanks! I am being motivated but I would need touch screen and side scrolling saving...

I am working on it now!

Maybe you can make a level editor and people can make their own levels and then upload as a different file. Then the main person working on this would choose the levels and just put them in the main game as a map pack v1,v2 and so on with the creators name on the maps or something like that

Seems legit... Petit modem would be used to share sprites and bg in packs, so its faster. Map packs seems liek a great idea! I'll work on the platforming and share it with you guys. With SB default sprites of course. But i'll save them so people can edit it or rename the file so they can have a custom platformer!

I think a chunck system will be necesary for the map editor. Because the max number of tiles that contain a background is 16833 (If you want to make an square, it will be of 127X127). I think the mario game that was uploaded by a japanese guy use a chunk system because the map seems infinite. Either way, I'm going to try to do a chunk system.

if this is still alive, then heres a game similar to smm: E2CXY3D4
