Nice
another update here, my game is coming along a lot better then expected, 12me helped me a lot and lumage has been helping in chat a lot too (especially to my dumb questions). so far ive got a known working map generator but it only currently generates trees land types dirt caves and one ore type, but its very easy to add things so ill be doing that later on. then i have a map loader which i can move around the map with, now collision is on its way but collision always has some problem one way or another so yeah ill be spending more time on it, im making the sprites kind of but they are hard to do so its going very slowly.. after collision gets done if it does then i will start adding important things such as world items mining and placing blocks. but not going to far ahead here, im still very worried about getting the collision done
Glad to hear that, i hope you'll get the collision working

clearly progress is progressing. yes, i started working with picy3, BUT i will not claim awards if he wins, because all i did to help was make a few wood sprites.

Ooh, what is that?
Water is a transparent and nearly colorless chemical substance that is the main constituent of Earth's streams, lakes, and oceans, and the fluids of most living organisms. Its chemical formula is H2O, meaning that each of its molecules contains one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms that are connected by covalent bonds. Strictly speaking, water refers to the liquid state of a substance that prevails at standard ambient temperature and pressure; but it often refers also to its solid state (ice) or its gaseous state (steam or water vapor). It also occurs in nature as snow, glaciers, ice packs and icebergs, clouds, fog, dew, aquifers, and atmospheric humidity.

Lol I meant what is the game supposed to be?

Smartass level 9000

wait a minute... i see another game with similar water machanics, the game petitworld also has flowing water! -of course this says nothing- anyways but i just wanted to know who thinks what for water in my terraria like game, i kind of forgot about it am now am here to wonder "wait how am i going to make this?", so ive come here to ask what you guys thought about how i should make it or what i should use. my original thought was to make it stationary and just not let move or not let you break blocks under it but i think that might look a bit dumb idk, i would LOVE to make nice terraria flowing water that spills out but i just dont know how i would handle that with everything

What I would do is something like: -have 8 or 16 or something different water tiles, one for each level of water you want. -every so often, check each water tile -if there's an empty space or water tile below it, fill the bottom tile and drain the upper tile (so, a 3/8 filled water tile above a 7/8 tile becomes a 2/8 above a 8/8 (full) tile) -if there's another water tile or empty space next to it, set both to the average level (so, a 3 next to 5 becomes 4 and 4, or 6 next to air becomes 3 and 3) -if the average isn't a whole number (say, a 5 was next to a 2), you have a few options: --round up (4 and 4). This is what terraria does, and it causes some water to be duplicated. --round down (3 and 3). This will cause water to gradually disappear as it flows. --spread the extra (4 and 3). Non moving water won't be perfectly flat, but it will not create or destroy water.

hmm yeah that sounds good (and i understand i think yeah), so i could just make a lot of water tiles for each level yeah (8 to be exact) if its os and so ong then dissipate it so and so blocks... huh that could work with some work.. ill keep thinking of this and uh try making it or something

You should try clone Dwarf Fortress's water system. Link to DF wiki here.
