Welcome to Smile World! Smile World is a life simulation game where you make and rule your island (or islands!) within the vast expanses of the world. This is the pre-release of Smile World. As of right now, islands cannot be saved. This will be changed in a later update. You can report bugs on the Smile World Project Thread Changelog: v1.0.0 Alpha First release! Our focus this time is... Basic navigation! Making sure menu and island traversing is smooth is our main goal for this update. Of course, we'll be making sure other bugs are noticed and fixed too, so make sure to report every bug!

Instructions:

D-Pad: navigate menu/change option (menus) A button: Advance dialog (text) Select option (menus) B button: Leave menu (menus) Run (in-game) X button: Pause game (in-game) Enter key: Finalize text input Start/Select: Force-close application

For something that was in development for 9 months I expected a lot more... I don’t want to be rude or anything but i am a tad disappointed, but i’m certain things will be better in future versions! :>

yeah the gameplay itself is horrible unless if you love moving around in a small area in a top-down 2D space with a circle pad and running with the b button which would be very specific and weird

That's entirely my fault. I didn't expect SmileBASIC to be so difficult to deal with... Another problem was how it was presented; I used the word "demo" by mistake and just had to roll with it. What I was thinking at the time was more along the lines of "tech demo", since I originally developed this build specifically to get an opinion from everyone else of this control style, not "game demo". Of course, "tech demo" is the wrong wording choice too... Well, what's done is done, and it's no use to make up excuses. Rest assured, I'm working right now to add in some actual content. Now that I know what I'm dealing with, it'll be easier and faster. ... though I can't do anything about the crappy sprites and animations right now since I'm clearly terrible at that. I'll substitute as many sprites as I can with the default good looking ones for now.

you should also make it so that you can use the D-pad to move

It's not a bad game, there isn't thaaat much content but for the content that's there its a good game

I know you asked a while back for help, and I wasn't that great of a help For making the game revolve around music Sorry that I couldn't do much I don't know too much about music The code for this does give potential to expand it I like the walking around at the end (:
