wasn't there something with star trek fan movie and the lawyers are asking the movie company..is it paramount? to give a strict definition of what is star trek and the fan movie deviates so much from the movies and books..or rather..the movies and books are so diverse I think was the argument. that they are asking them for a definition of what is star trek...wonder if something similar could happen to pokemon.?
If they gave you a clear definition of what a certain pokemon is or has..then you can avoid it by not using what is in the definition...meh..just throwing that out there.
Well if i really wanted a pokemon fan game, its not really horrible to just make a lil fan port. So does that mean the creator of Megaman 2 PTC is a dumb kid who didn't take time and effort to create their own fan port? No!!!Instead of just remaking Pokemon Red on SmileBasic, how about a new game with a Pokemon style to it? New Story, same battle system. I'd like a lot better and it's easier to dodge copyright that way!! Also you can't use Pokemon Sprites, even if you change the name...because thats just how creative these kids are, none of them can have an original idea so they just try to clone things then get butthurt for not having any idea what a copyright or IP are people like these kids are why petitcomputer was pulled from the west; out best projects were all clones or ports, not a single origional idea

its not really horrible to just make a lil fan port.Tell that to Smileboom, and copyright, and fair use, and GameFreak, and... Taken at base value, the game is still a free version of a paid game, and it really doesn't help that the VC Re-releases just came out. That's why a fan game is what would make the most sense if you want a game that plays just like Pokemon. we can even design our own new monsters, and design new moves! This could be a community project, everyone chip in and draw a monster, or design a new move! If we can't copy then we must create; why not create together?

This exploded, and because of copyright this will not be uploaded. We are just making this for fun. NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE UPLOADED! Just because a project has copyrighted material doesn't mean it should be cancelled, but just not uploaded...

I even told you I'd be happy to help if you made a new story! 3.How would you change it? different sprites? seems a bit bothersome to do just because you want Red so bad. Why don't you start with the one you'll upload and edit it for the one you keep? 4. I wasn't even being rude/discouraging, so why so volatile? Is it because your mad at Fidaux? He's an Alt, and I don't really appreciate when people are angry at me because they're angry at something unrelated/ something I wasn't even directly involved with. Do you think I had something to do with Fidaux's angry reaction? ok, like i said once you have an engine ad a way to add the text I'd love to help anyway I can! I just wish you would release it on the site. That's what's making me a little sad...Well, we'll release a changed version (With the concept of) but I'm here working my rear off with my 3D GMOD LIKE GAME and I don't think I can finish the first alpha build by march 12. (I probably can if this cat gets off of me and I can grab my New 3dsxl xD)
