So what do we know about SmileBASIC 3.3?

I mean, it depends how they do the detection. You might be able to just <redacted>. I don't think the Namco DLC will actually sell that well, so... I think it's just best to see how it plays out, because even Smileboom is just trying out having DLC and chances are they can't enforce it as well as they need to.
Well, you can count on me for having a Japanese 3DS! But I think I'm probably gonna have to get some money for the card...

So... Have we heard anything else? I'm really starting to wonder where the update is. Every Thursday I check the eShop, and no update...

We'll tell you when it is. No need to check all the time. It's not that close.

It's just kind of weird because earlier they were saying it would be out before 2016... Obviously that didn't happen, but I wouldn't have thought it would be much longer.

Maybe a month or two. Sometime soon. Hopefully.

Petit Computer 3.3 info, there is a VIEWER for IP catalog collaboration [e.g. Namco assets, others assumed planned] downloadable content. It is possible to check the sprite, sound effect and BGM content for MML and sprite definitions with the VIEWER. Happy feeling just by listening to the BGM and sounds
Petit Computer 3.3 info, sorry to have kept you waiting. The first edition of the IP catalog collaboration is GALAXIAN and PACMAN. Includes image and sound (both MML and waveforms) material, but the games themselves are not included. Petit Computer 3.3 info, the advanced sound unit is available as a DLC purchase, but the sample programs will be available on the official public page. The three are: SU_SIMPLE (processing of microphone input) SU_STOMP (distortion, pitch shifter, delay) SU_SPEAN (FFT and waveform display) Coming soon.
I'm certain that someone will make me snake Pac-Man where the body grows when a dot is eaten. I checked out parts of GALAXIAN and PACMAN, what amazing technology. It's impressive to see how my seniors had built hardware to make the games. I wanted to work at Namco~ (*distant eyes*)

Coming soon.
Eyy maybe 3.3 is closer than first think. ...okay what does that last one actually say

Coming soon is just a standard phrase you know that. It is closer now though.

They wouln't say the samples would be coming soon if the update wasn't, is what I'm saying. Unless they want to release the samples beforehand so we can see the features in code or something. It's nice to see that they're communicating with us though. Shows progress.

Hey, SmileBoom is going to GDC (info here.) Apparently they're unveiling a new game-creation tool as well as having "a lineup of SmileBASIC products" available for play. Maybe they'll say something about 3.3 or BIG, who knows? If we can get contacts/people to go to GDC that would be nice. You can also shoot them an e-mail to get a press kit (details in the link) so if someone here (preferably of authority) can manage to get a press kit that would be cool. Do you have to be press to get a press kit? I wonder how that works out.

Please, it would be nice if no one else bothers them about this. I'm already on it and I'll share what I get. It doesn't make sense for everyone to request the kit when it's both not exactly intended for the masses and also not just about SmileBASIC. Edit: Also, the new game creation tool they're talking about is a Windows software.

I wasn't intending to make everyone asking about it, just spreading the word. It's always good to have more people informed of things. Thanks for getting on it though, that's cool of you. I also hate to be that guy again but can you source your info about the new tool?

we will show a lineup of SmileBASIC products and a brand-new game creation tool
"SmileBASIC products" and "a brand new game creation tool" are separate. http://smileboom.com/company_news.php
And it will be exhibited for Windows game development software currently under development.
http://smileboom.com/press/20160222gdc/
(near the same as above with the added "will be introduced to overseas game developers")

Oh. They really should get a better English team. The eng press release hardly made mention. Even worse is that their English website is incomplete. At least they're trying to expand their company overseas, which is good.

Anyone not so involved with SmileBASIC specifically could easily make the connection that it's a different thing, and I guess therefore assume it's a desktop thing. It's not that bad.

Edit: Also, the new game creation tool they're talking about is a Windows software.
they jumping the nintendo ship?

they jumping the nintendo ship?
They were never Nintendo-exclusive? They've always made stuff for a variety of platforms? SmileBASIC/Petit Computer is actually their first software on a (modern) Nintendo platform?

can we not bother people for not knowing things please

I'm just clarifying in the most sarcastic way possible.
