Silly memory testing

  • #1 ✎ 238 Shelly I am currently using my 3ds to do some silly memory testing, which basically just is an experiment to see if you can interface with any less obvious hardware, such as getting the position of the 3DS' 3d slider. The key for the program I'm using is NDY3K3R3. I got the idea after I was using petitmodem one day, and I got an ARM exception handler as a result of petitmodem putting a certain value in a certain location, or just using too much memory. Unfortunately, the test code I wrote is extremely slow, so in order to complete it would take over 24 hours (on old 3ds at least). Technical details: It works by writing every possible 32-bit value into almost all of the available memory, and looks to see if the value it just wrote is different than the value in memory. If the value is different, it displays text on the screen. Posted Edited by Shelly

The Public Key you entered is incorrect Also, what values have you found so far?
The new key is on the page for it. So far I've only tested around 400 values, out of around 4.7 billion. I hope to make the code faster in the near future, by using ARYOP, running it on a new 3DS, and distributing the work among several volunteers. Oh yeah, and no values have been found so far. EDIT: Version 2.0 key released. Program is now glitch-free, and can utilize ARYOP (run program called "ARYOPVERSION" if you have the Advanced Sound Processing DLC).

Well it isn't really detecting anything in particular. It tests to see what values change, and then people with Luma3ds or something can see what's causing it. Running this test helps a lot.
