Program Naming Standards

Do program naming standards from the original Wikia still exist?

What were the naming standards?

Everyone had their own 3 characters that they would sort of "sign" their program name with. I had (102), so a program by me would be called 102_BLAH or something like that. It was discussed in the previous wikia but the wikia has been cancelled so the thread cannot be seen.

The original idea was that if you downloaded two different programs made by two different people, they might accidentally have resources with the same name, so you'd prefix everything with your code to avoid clashes. However, the thinking now is that the ability to keep each program in its own folder makes the prefixes unnecessary. That's where the three letters in my user icon came from, though.

Wait, the SmileBASIC Wiki is gone?! Did you back anything up? I had a little blog post I would have liked to keep..

That's exactly what it was for, but I guess you're right in saying that folder remove the prefix purpose

Sorry, I don't have anything backed up. I didn't even know it was gone until yesterday, so I didn't think I was going to back anything up. EDIT I found this at the wikia site: You can retrieve your content if you like. (If your wiki was recently closed, it may take a short period of time for the files to be generated) Maybe it is possible to see the lost pages.

I would recommend people still use their prefixes to be safe, but they aren't displayed anywhere on this site.

Okay then. I'm gonna have to update some stuff...

So, should we put our prefixes at the beginning of our file names, or at the end? I feel like GAME.M12 looks better than M12_GAME. Oh, BTW I was able to recover some stuff from the wiki, thanks!

You add it to the beginning of your program.
